Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX (Lutheran North)
Carter was just overly impressive as she scored on a variety of ways including the “floata” which she is beginning to master. I recognized this young lady as a 3rd grader being a #D1Lock and she continues to exceed my expectations as she’s now a #BCSLock which shows how she’s put in work to be the best she can be and with her long ball dropping as well as blowing by defenders for baskets, she put on a show yet she started the game distributing and getting hers “in the flow”
Zachara Perkins 6’2 PG (St Pius)
Perkins has just amazed me, no not just by having conversations as she dissected plays and game situations with me, well for me but her growth, 2 inches off the court, as well as her growth, that mindset and desire to attack the rim from either side with either hand and finish strongly after contact but that poise, she understood that she had to take her defender down the stretch to give them the go-ahead basket and she did but she also dropped the 3 ball numerous times
Aalyssa Rogers-5’8 PG (John Cooper)
Rogers with the ice water running through her veins down the stretch for the go-ahead basket then 30 seconds later, at the line to take back the lead, her athleticism and strength enable her to just create problems for defenders. She has a strong first step and very good body control so falling into that “and one waiting to happen” category is of no surprise but she was doing that as well as showing the nice pull-up jumpers prior to her game-saving heroics
Bre’Yon White Bre’Yon White 6'0" | SF Shadowcreek | 2021 State TX (Shadow Creek)
White has this switch named BRE-MODE which comes on automatically as she just overpowers defenders in the paint as well as off the dribble yet she also rebounds and battles till the end, you can’t teach what she brings to the table, you have to want it, and throughout her career, she has shown that drive and determination and not only does she want the ball in pressure situations, she comes through but when you’ve expanded your game from outside the 3 point line, it makes it tough on defenders
Heather Baymon Heather Baymon 5'6" | PG Langham Creek | 2024 State TX (Langham Creek)
Baymon is just a #THROWBACK guard and she also brings so many things that you just can’t teach. She has made several of my Tip Sheet articles and in one of the initial ones, I mentioned speed but she has so much energy and plays the same way from start to finish. With one of the best pull-up jumpers as well as stop and pops in the state right now, she’s going to be hard to contain, no ifs and or butts, and watching her come from behind players for numerous steals, attacking, and scoring as well as that patented jumper helped secure the victory
