The Hebron Hawks hosted and defeated the Frisco Reedy Lions 54-46 on Tuesday, and the Melissa Cardinals lost a home contest to the McKinney North Bulldogs 61-47 on Friday.
Here are five standout wing prospects from this past week’s action:
Jaydyn Bullard | 2021 | 5’8” Small Forward | Melissa HS – Bullard is a high energy player. She is constantly in attack mode. The senior forward displayed a nice jumper that she can utilize in stop-and-pop scenarios from the mid-range area. However, she was at her best when she was slashing and getting downhill toward the basket. Nobody could stop her when she got into the paint off the drive. Bullard finished the game as Melissa’s leading scorer with 20 points while also contributing six rebounds and three assists.
Demauria Miles | 2021 | 5’8” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Hebron HS – Miles appears to be thriving in her increased role. She was an excellent player for the Hawks a year ago when she was coming off the bench. As a starter, the senior wing still shoots well from behind the three-point line but also seems to have added a mid-range jumper to her arsenal. She follows her shots and stays with it on offense, rebounding her own miss and subsequently scoring on numerous occasions vs. Frisco Reedy. Additionally, Miles is a sticky on-ball defender.
Jasmyn Loudermill | 2021 | 5’10” Small Forward | Hebron HS – Loudermill shined on the defensive end of the floor against the Lions. She is a versatile defender with the ability to guard multiple positions. The 5-foot-10-inch forward does a great job of staying in front of quicker players on the perimeter while also showing she can challenge and turn back shots when defending down low. Her willingness to communicate with her teammates on defense was noteworthy too. Beyond that, Loudermill was a productive rebounder and converted some tough baskets in the paint.
Kaelyn Hamilton Kaelyn Hamilton 5'10" | SF McKinney North | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’8” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | McKinney North HS – Hamilton certainly does not play like a freshman. Her basketball IQ and court vision are next level. I believe that she is going to develop into more of a guard as she progresses over the next four years, mainly due to her outstanding skills as a facilitator. The 2024 prospect was responsible for some brilliant passes on Friday. Hamilton showed off her high motor in this game as well, crashing the glass with intensity at both ends and being disruptive on defense. Furthermore, the McKinney North freshman had some gorgeous takes to the hoop. She put together a complete performance vs. Melissa, accounting for 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
Ciara Harris | 2024 | 5’8” Small Forward | McKinney North HS – Harris is another talented freshman on McKinney North’s varsity roster. She did a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs on Friday. The first-year forward showed that she can score at the hoop as the screener in pick-and-roll situations. She displayed the ability to get to the basket on her own too, utilizing ball fakes and terrific footwork to free herself up for gimme layups. Her rebounding also stood out and played a part in the Bulldogs’ victory. Harris ultimately finished the evening with six points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
