In the COVID-19 2020 world we are living in, video and highlight films have become more and more prominent and important. We will be posting evaluations from the videos weekly. In Youtube Evals Class of 2022: Part 2 we take a look at some of the states 2022 prospects.

Wow! Gilbert is fun to watch. She is a SUPERB athlete, ULTRA competitor, and SKILLED offensive player and she brings it every time she hits the court playing with a chip on her shoulder! If she has the ball in her hands, whether in the half court or in transition, she is attacking down hill to get to the rim and there are very few defenders that can prevent her from doing it. She is a crafty, acrobatic finisher at the rim that can finish with the left and right hand and high at the rim. Super fun to watch her play and compete and easy to see why she is one of the state’s top prospects as well as nationally ranked.

Long, athletic perimeter player that can do it all. She has a nice 3 point stroke, she can handle the rock and she is an excellent passer. She plays the game with poise and doesn’t get sped up too fast vs aggressive defenses. She uses her length and height well allowing her to see over defenses and find the open players. Her offensive game is much improved and she is deadly from 3 point range. In my opinion, she is one of the most improved players I have seen in the last 12 months and has a ton of potential. Will be following her progression closely as she continues to develop her offensive skill set and gets bigger, stronger, faster.

[player_tooltip player_id="154841" first="Jada" last="Green"] (St. Thomas Aquinas / Miami Suns)
Jada is a 6’0, very athletic, versatile multi dimensional inside out forward. She can run the floor like a deer, her length and athleticism stand out. She catches the ball well in transition and traffic. She plays well from the high post with 15 feet range and can put the ball to the floor going to the rim. She is an unselfish interior presence who gives ball up to open players on the perimeter and finds them at the rim for easy buckets. High ceiling with tons of potential.

Big, strong guard that can play the 2 and the 3 (and in a 4 guard system can play the 4 as well). Offensively she is a bull in a china shop as her build and mass allow her to drive and get to the rim and take contact vs defenders. She does a great job getting out in transition running the floor for easy buckets. She has good 3 point range and a nice mid range pull up. Defensively she is active and aggressive playing passing lanes and gets her hands on a lot of balls.

[player_tooltip player_id="220005" first="Raven" last="Hunter"] (American Heritage Delray / Wellington Wolves)
Long, athletic 5’9 guard who can play the 1 and the 2. Offensively she can knock down the 3, put to the floor with her left hand and attack the rim as well as pull up mid range for a jump shot or a runner. She has a lot of length for a guard and despite being a righty, likes to put the ball to floor to penetrate using her left hand and often can get to the rim in 2 dribbles. She does a good job passing the ball to open players either cutting the basket for a layup or running the floor in transition offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="220006" first="Laniyah" last="Leon"] (Miami Killian Senior HS)
Shooting guard with 3-point range and is an aggressive, pesky defender. She plays hard on both ends of the floor and with a ton of energy. Creates a lot of havoc on defensive end consistently playing passing lanes and running the floor after opposing teams turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id="220008" first="Lauren" last="Lockhart"] (Boynton Beach / Wellington Wolves)
5’11 Wing / Forward with a long and strong build. She does a good job using her length to be in passing lanes and get deflections and steals and runs the floor in transition well. Has a set shot that shoots pretty consistent percentage from 12-15 feet. Good rebounder and shot blocker from the guard position.

[player_tooltip player_id="219952" first="Amber" last="Mateo"] (Somerset Silver Palms / Miami Suns)
Shooter! Amber walks in the gym and she is in her shooting range! She has a strong, compact build and is small in stature but plays bigger than her size. She plays with a ton of confidence and is capable of going for 30+ points and 8+ 3 pointers any game she is suiting up for. Must close her out 3-4 feet beyond the 3-point line. Although her 3-point shooting is her biggest strength, she is not just a shooter and she has the ability to put the ball to the floor for a 1-2 dribble pull up or get all the way to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="220007" first="Danica" last="Osdon"] (Jensen Beach HS / Wellington Wolves)
5’5 Point Guard who is fast with the ball in transition and attacks the rim going down hill aggressively. She has a quick first step and can get by the first defender and into the paint very effectively. She is a capable 3 point shooter with good court vision who shares the ball and feeds her teammates passes in scoring positions. Her speed and quick hands make her a very effective defender as she consistently pressures the opposing teams point guard for the entire game.
