River Bluff HS came out to start the day with a win over Socastee HS 54-42. Samira Khalil Samira Khalil 5'8" | CG Hammond | 2024 State SC (2024) led the way for the Gators with 13 points (unofficial book keeping). Khalil plays very mature and poised for her age on the floor. Khalil really has a smooth stroke along with her game. Jaden Tucker added 11 points in the win.
The Braves made the trip up from Myrtle Beach and never could get going in this one. River Bluff HS led 33-21 at the halftime break. Anna Reese Pratt Anna Reese Pratt 6'4" | C Socastee | 2024 State SC (2024) really turned it on in the second half on her way to a 14 point evening. Mariah Leinbach Mariah Leinbach 5'9" | SF Socastee | 2021 State SC (2021) chipped in with 12 points for the Lady Braves.
The Sumter HS Lady Gamecocks led the from start to finish with Carolina Forest HS. The Lady Gamecocks won its season opener 53-18. Kiara Croskey Kiara Croskey 5'6" | PG Sumter | 2024 State SC led the way with 15 points (unofficial). Croskey scored the ball at the rim at will all day long. Layken Cox Layken Cox 6'1" | PF Sumter | 2021 State SC (2021) a Gardner Webb signee finished with 10 points all around the paint.
The Lady Panthers just couldn’t manage much of anything today vs a feisty Lady Gamecocks defense. Reilly Ward Reilly Ward 5'5" | SG Carolina Forest | 2021 State SC and Gabby Giracello Gabby Giracello 5'4" | PG Carolina Forest | 2021 State SC will provide senior leadership this season for Head Coach Stacy Hughes.
The Estill HS Lady Fighting Gators improved to (2-0) with a win over the host Scott’s Branch HS 48-30. The Lady Fighting Gators outscored the Lady Eagles 17-0 in the second quarter onto a 25-10 halftime score. Estill HE was led in scoring by Jalashia Polite and Kadejah Smoak Kadejah Smoak 5'8" | SF Hampton County | 2024 SC both with 13 points. Ny’Keyah Mitchell Ny’Keyah Mitchell 5'11" | PF Wade Hampton (Hampton) | 2023 State SC and Tamya Hutchinson Tamya Hutchinson 5'4" | PG Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC both finished with 11 points.
Cambria Parker Cambria Parker 5'6" | CG Scott's Branch | 2021 State SC led the way for Scott’s Branch HS with 17 points in the season opening loss.
