2022: CNHY Showcase

The Palmetto State 2022 was represented very well this weekend at the CNHY Showcase at Cardinal Newman. Prep Girls Hoops took in the action on Saturday over on Alpine Road. Prep Girls Hoops is source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State all year long. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124089" first="Ashlyn" last="Watkins"] - Cardinal Newman (pictured on the front) </strong> Watkins was a force inside the paint for the Lady Cardinals. Watkins the night before dunked the ball in on a break away. Watkins #1 player in the 2022 Palmetto State controlled the paint and provided quite the block party this evening. Watkins recorded several block shots and ran the floor very well in transition. Watkins feels very comfortable facing-up out on the perimeter with a nice stroke from 15-17 feet. Nelson scored 24 points in a win over Westwood HS. Nelson score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. Nelson has a great knack for scoring the ball if it's shooting it from the perimeter, stalking the baseline or just creating havoc on the defensive end of the floor. Williams a left-handed guard really likes to push the tempo and score the ball in transition. Williams is quite shifty with the ball in her hands and getting into the gaps to make a play. Knight a left-handed guard directs traffic and makes really good reads to her fellow teammates. Tillman really likes to pressure the ball on the defensive end of the floor. Tillman was very active in the passing lanes and played very aggressive at all times. Tillman was able to connect on a three pointer but most importantly had a MOTOR that never stopped while on the floor.
