Prep Girls Hoops is diving into some player performances from the United Bank Holiday Invitational held this past week in Myrtle Beach. The event ended on Tuesday afternoon. Lets take a look at some players who had some noteworthy performances in the event.

Grant helped the Lady Hurricanes to a (1-1) finish in the United Bank Holiday Invitational. Grant a rangy guard with good length has the ability to create her own shot. Grant a offensive minded guard has good range behind the arc and a feel for the game. Grant will be relied on a lot this season for the Lady Hurricanes to make some noise in SCISA Class 3A. Grant scored 29 points in her opening round game for the Lady Hurricanes.

Spann is a back to the basket post player who doesn’t mind playing on contact. Spann can step-out and face-up from the elbow for the occasional short jumper. Spann will set a screen and moves very well away from the ball. Spann ran the floor well today and shows to have a nice touch around the cup. Spann is very vocal with her teammates and really communicates well on the floor.

Alexander a left-handed wing was a bit up and down all week. Alexander is best suited from about 10-12 feet in to the cup. Alexander a athletic forward for the Lady Knights runs the floor well and plays very active in the passing lanes.

Hatten a wing player for the Lady Lions really likes to work the short corners on the baseline. Hatten feels very comfortable from 15-17 feet away from the cup. Hatten was automatic in one game with 4 shots from that spot on the floor.

Schnell was great in the game vs Legacy Early College where she scored 26 points while connecting on 6 three pointers. Schnell played the game with very good shot selection. Schnell is better off the ball at the shooting guard position and made some big shots down the stretch in the game.

Briggs at times played in the post for the Lady Eagles out of necessity. Briggs did a bit of everything for her team if it was hitting a big shot, getting a rebound on both ends of the floor or handling the ball up the floor from coast to coast.
