Below is a list of posts who are making noise and proving that their stocks are rising soon into the season. Each of these post players have shown glimpses of how elite they will be the rest of the season and beyond. This list consists of post players in the Big East- North and Big East- North.
Big East- North: Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah, Hilbert, Howards Grove, Manitowoc Lutheran, Mishicot, Reedsville, St. Mary Catholic.
Big East- South: Cedar Grove- Belgium, Kohler, Oostburg, Ozaukee, Random Lake, Sheboygan Christian, Sheboygan Lutheran.
Ashley Vogel | Reedsville | 5’10 Senior
The senior has done well in the leadership role so far this season and seems to have improved multiple aspects of her game. She is a dominant post player who gives it all on both ends of the floor. A fierce rebounder, Vogel gets after it on the glass and has the numbers to prove it. She is averaging nearly 6 rebounds per game for Reedsville. An offensive threat as well, Vogel has a smooth release to her shot and does so well keeping the ball high on put back offensive boards. She is averaging nearly 6 points per game and scored 10 points in a game against St. Mary Catholic.
Keslie Dulmes | Oostburg | 5’11 Senior
Dulmes is averaging 12 points per game this season and has been essential for this team’s success so far. She does so well going downhill and is incredibly impressive in transition play. In a win over Elkhart Lake, Dulmes was unstoppable with 17 points for her team. In another win over Sheboygan Lutheran the senior finished with 16 points. She is an offensive rebounding machine and is truly resilient on the glass. In a win over Ozaukee, Dulmes grabbed 6 offensive rebounds. She can handle the ball as well and isn’t afraid to push the ball up the floor.
Brooklyn Luebke | Manitowoc Lutheran | 5’9 Junior
Luebke is an athletic post player that really thrives in the lane defensively. She causes havoc and does well deflecting shots which is super exciting for someone of her height. The ceiling is high for her defending as she seems very athletic with a great feel for the game. She works alongside her team very well, rarely does Luebke force anything offensively but can contribute consistent buckets each night. In a game against Ozaukee, Luebke finished with 8 points.
Kara Kiekhaefer | Reedsville | 5’10 Sophomore
Keikhaefer is extremely versatile on the floor as she has so much athleticism and a very high basketball IQ. The sophomore understands her role on this team and has mastered all the little things needed for this team to see success. Playing with some incredibly talented post players, the ceiling is high for her ability to impact in the lane. In a game against St. Mary Catholic, Kiekhaefer finished with 12 points.
Nicole Zimmermann | Kohler | 5’10 Freshman
An exciting post player with so much upside- Zimmerman is a player to keep your eyes on. She has been rapidly improving in just a few games at the varsity level. She’s great in off-ball scenarios where she can rim-run or be a consistent dump threat around the basket. Her athleticism is a major plus, and she is starting to pair it with fundamentals at a more consistent level. Her range is gradually expanding as well, and this is ery ideal because of the offensive sets Kohler is running. She is averaging a light 5 points per game and will definitely be adding to her scoring as the season progresses.
