Available Seniors Spotlight
With schools facing quarantine and shutdown every day, it has never been more important for seniors to get as much exposure as possible. With the Available Seniors Spotlight, we will highlight some talented 2021s that have yet to sign.
5-10 PG [player_tooltip player_id="148890" first="Cheyenne" last="Holloman"] – Pope
If you follow girls basketball in the state of Georgia, you know [player_tooltip player_id="148890" first="Cheyenne" last="Holloman"] is one of the best guards the state has to offer. Currently unsigned with D-I interest ranging from High Academics to Mid Majors, the southpaw is a force with her ability to do whatever is needed for her team. A true point guard, Holloman can even initiate the offense from the high post when needed, showing her versatility. She’s a skilled passer, a physical rebounder and a crafty scorer that can shoot it and finish in traffic. Holloman will finish her career as one of the best players in school history. Going up against undefeated Kell and superstar [player_tooltip player_id="154582" first="Crystal" last="Henderson"], Holloman poured in 37 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. She’s a certified D-I prospect that can help strengthen a backcourt right away.
5-9 G [player_tooltip player_id="186281" first="Imani" last="Smith"] – Hiram
[player_tooltip player_id="186281" first="Imani" last="Smith"] caught my eye in the offseason and has continued to dazzle with her high motor, athleticism and length. She’s a no-brainer at the D-II level but likely could climb higher. She received an Appalachian State offer back in 2019. Smith is a streaky three-point shooter that gets hot in a hurry. She has 3&D capabilities with her wingspan and quickness, able to jump passing lanes and defend on-ball. Her stats don’t lie. Through eight games she’s averaging 15.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 5.4 steals and 1.8 blocks.
6-0 C [player_tooltip player_id="118129" first="Taniya" last="Alexander"] – Hart County
If you’re looking for a space-eating post that scores in the paint and rebounds at a high level, look no further than [player_tooltip player_id="118129" first="Taniya" last="Alexander"]. The physical power player is been a double-double machine since Day 1. She’s got over 1,500 points in her career and over 1,000 rebounds. Alexander punishes defenders with her shoulders and converts through contact. She can occasionally space the floor from 15-feet as well. Alexander could be a terrific late get at the right spot as her rebounding and toughness translates to the next level.
6-0 C Elizabeth Pruitt – Forsyth Central
Skilled with a soft touch and quick feet, Elizabeth Pruitt is one of the better sleepers available on the low block. Blessed with a strong frame that can handle college rigors, Pruitt isn’t just a banger; she can take opponents off the dribble and even stretch the floor from three. Offensively, she’s a versatile piece that can do damage from the high post and low block. Defensively, she isn’t an elite shot blocker but she can challenge shots and does a good job of eliminating second chances.
5-8 CG Angelina Cofrancesco – Cambridge
A heady guard that is a vocal leader and plays with grit, Angelina Cofrancesco would be a valuable pick up at the lower levels. She’s a solid three-point shooter and drives the ball hard to the basket. Cofrancesco is active on defense and has a nose for the ball which results in steals and rebounds. She’s got strength from the guard position which helps her against bigger opponents. D-II and D-III schools will want to have her on their radar.
5-9 F Sydney Jones – Hiram
Quickly emerging as one of the state’s toughest pound-for-pound rebounders, the workhorse known as Sydney Jones is having a monster year. Just at first glance, you can tell the strapping team captain lives in the weight room. Her broad shoulders help her carve out space and play much bigger than her size. Through eight games, she’s double-doubling at 10.5 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals. The high academic powerhouse can help small schools on the glass right away.
