Memorial
Giana Vlahakos-6’0 P
Vlahakos is a talented junior blessed with size and a college-ready body yet her strength truly sets things off and last night, she used her power inside the paint to do a number of things, like finish, after contact, as well rebound and defend. She wants it, I can see the progression every time she steps on the floor, and watching her battle for the ball off of the rim, on both ends, has been great for me to catch since club season but her hands and her footwork around the basket as well as her footwork on defense, she’s stepping outside of the paint to defend, all played a part in their victory
Nicolette Polocheck Nicolette Polocheck 6'0" | PF Memorial | 2024 State TX
Polocheck has been averaging close to a double-double since joining the team from volleyball action yet if there’s a ball and a net, I imagine she’ll do well no matter what the sport is however since I rarely watch volleyball, I totally enjoy seeing this talented freshman whose upside is going to keep her among the tops in her class. She’s strong, she’s agile, and she’s fluid, either moving her body or taking her shot, and to watch her rebound with power over and over at this stage keeps me smiling
Alexandra Pappas-6’0 PF
Pappas played serviceable minutes and did a good job of not only rebounding but defending inside the paint as well as outside of it but her senior leadership also stood out
Vanessa Nunley-6’0 PF
Nunley’s poise on the court definitely was one of the pieces for their win as the senior didn’t back down and battled for everything
Katy Taylor
Deborah Imeh-5’10 P
Imeh attacks the basket well, she’s long and athletic and can use her “ups” to not only rebound but her #BAD block, alter or deflect shots, was essential and very helpful in the senior’s game last night as she had to battle against an array of players over “the magic number” of 6’0
Dominique Lombard-5’10 PF
Lombard works hard, very hard on both ends and she showed she could attack and finish with contact or create her shot on the midrange but her defense was more than solid as she used her athleticism to man up baseline to baseline and her strength to do it inside the paint, plus she rebounds well and the senior also was vocal
Katherine Brunner-5’10 PF
Brunner’s upside intrigues me because of her size, and her class, she’s a 2023, but the sophomore also didn’t mind getting after it on either end, attacking the rim relentlessly while showing she could do that by putting the ball on the floor and as for rebounding, she keeps coming after the ball, that’s something you can’t teach
