The game has and will always start at the 1 and both point guards from their respective teams, George Ranch and Seven Lakes are among those who made the list, as well as some impressive role players
<strong>George Ranch</strong>
<img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-238128" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/12/Savannah-Velasquez-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135394" first="Savannah" last="Velazquez"]-5’3 PG junior</strong>
Velazquez is an explosive guard that falls into the "size don’t matter" hashtag I drop a lot because she can play and whether she’s blazing past defenders, with the ball and under control, and throwing blistering passes in traffic, in transition included, I love her passion on both ends, she applies constant heat on the defensive side and caused many turnovers both directly and directly to help her squad make several runs
<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-238129 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/12/Rachel-Okoye-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158680" first="Rachel" last="Okoye"]-5’5 SG junior</strong>
Okoye is smooth under pressure, I love seeing her set the defender up with a deceptive first step in the half-court set and she did it numerous times to show that picture-perfect pull-up jumper from midrange or attack the rim and finish acrobatically. Her body control has always been good, she appears to defy gravity at times and also can make shots off-balance, with either hand
<img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-238130" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/12/Leslie-Forum-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>Leslie Forun-5’10 SF sophomore </strong>
Forun was a pleasant surprise for me, she’s long and athletic and scored numerous times from the midrange but seeing her create her shot, under pressure, was nice especially when she dropped the fadeaway down the stretch. On top of that, she rebounded on both ends of the floor as well as ran the floor, and as far as that long and athletic base I continuously talk about, twins <strong>Jada Howard</strong> and <strong>Jasmine Howard</strong> fit that profile, as well as the seniors, are right around the magic number of 6’0
<strong>Seven Lakes</strong>
<img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-238127" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/12/DSC_0009-1-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>Cailyn Tucker-5’6 PG junior</strong>
Tucker did a good job of not only controlling the tempo but her entry passes to [player_tooltip player_id="158862" first="Justice" last="Carlton"] were smooth and helped get the ball rolling early for the Spartans. It helped that she not only saw the floor well as well as handled it under pressure, but she also did a good job art breaking the defender down and attacking the basket, especially when she went coast to coast and scored
<strong>Sarah Narum-5’8 SG senior</strong>
Narum is smooth and understands how to get hers in the flow and her ability to create her shot under pressure as well as knock it down consistently has always been fun to watch. She elevates on her jumper and her release is smooth, she showed it several times but she also showed she could take the defender from the left or right for layups
<img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-238126" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/12/Ximena-Diez-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>Ximena Diez-5’6 G senior</strong>
Diez provided fire off the bench and her energy on both ends helped keep the momentum going or change it watching her attack the basket numerous times and score as well as defend gave the Spartans a big boost. She also plays within herself, that’s another lost art and she found ways to help her team that might not appear on a score or stat sheet
