Nicole Petrakovitz Nicole Petrakovitz 5'8" | SG Oak Ridge | 2021 State TX -5’7 CG senior (Oak Ridge HS)
Petrakovitz is exciting to watch, she simply finds ways to put the ball in the basket, and seeing her take defenders off the dribble, she has a deceptive first step, from the wing and watches her not only finish but finish after contact as well as sometimes acrobatically which is so smooth you sort of think “Barnum and Bailey” yet her body control also enables her to take the lick when she’s dropping the mid to long-range jumper which she creates smoothly, under pressure as well as shoots either in transition with the stop and pop. She went 8/16 against Memorial, this included 4/7 from deep to finish with 21
Farren Donald-Wright-5’7 SG junior (St Pius HS)
Donald-Wright keeps doing it right and as she silently adds numbers on the stat sheet, her aggressiveness either attacking the rim or playing defense gets better every time I see her play and with her consistently scoring in double figures, she had 14 against Kinkaid, her rebounds, steals and assists blend in nicely but watching her play the passing lane is exciting, maybe because it’s one of my “pet peeves” because so many just watch the ball slowly go across the court and wait for the offensive player to catch it but not her, she anticipates and it’s usually baskets going the other way
Natia Hagan-5’4 G junior (Humble HS)
Hagan gave me a good first look at her skill-set and she’s not only athletic but has some speed, with the ball and when you have those two things going for you, let me add she is under control with the ball so whether it was attacking the rim from multiple angles or showing she could drop the long ball, she also saw the floor and made some nice passes for assists, oh yeah, she applies heat on defense
Sarah Xu-5’9 G/SF sophomore (Kinkaid HS)
Xu gave me a good first look at what she brings to the table and one thing I saw for certain is that she has a scorers mentality. She creates her shot, understands where and when to take it and her pull-up is nice and smooth, the shot is fluid and accurate and this was from mid to long-range
Abigail Tomaski Abigail Tomaski 6'0" | SG Memorial | 2023 State TX -6’0 SG sophomore
Tomaski can go on a scoring rampage silently and if you don’t understand that, it means she does it so smoothly that when you see the numbers you seem astonished, I’m not a novice, I see everything and she does a good job seeing things too, like the floor, had some good assists on one end and played the passing lane on another and her 15 points on 6/11 including 2/2 from long range were big in their win
Tobi Ademuwagun-6’0 SF/SG sophomore (Jordan HS)
Ademuwagun will be one of the most sought after players in the area for club teams promising what they can do for her yet she does it herself, in most cases that’s how it works, again, I’m not a novice but I have stamped #BEAST with her name for a number of reasons including “she goes after everything off the glass” and “you will not outwork her” two things from yesteryear that I don’t see often so I drop the #THROWBACK on her as well. I can drop whatever I want off the court, she’s putting numbers on the court including 29/8 with 3/3 from BTA
Shalayne Morgan Shalayne Morgan 5'9" | CG North Shore | 2023 State TX -5’7 sophomore (North Shore HS)
Morgan is one of those players that just brings so much to the table in numerous ways, her defense creates turnovers, she can stay with her man baseline to baseline yet her playing the passing lane is definitely a big plus and boost as much of what she does can change the momentum as she did on that rainy Friday night against Humble. She can attack and finish with contact as well as create her shot for the mid to long-range
