The high school season in Washington has been pushed back to February and the positivity towards there being a season is growing more slim with time, but the write ups and content continues from Prep Girls Hoops nonetheless. Over the course of the next week or so I will take a look at a variety of superlatives for prospects in the 2021 class and beyond. Things will kick off in the greater Seattle area!

Top 2021 Shooters In Seattle

Midrange Off The bounce- 2021 5’11 SF [player_tooltip player_id="20229" first="Tamia" last="Stricklin"] (Seattle Prep) loves to play off the bounce when she has some space. She uses a variety of moves and hesitations with advanced footwork to create space. More times than not, she likes to pull up in the midrange area off of these moves if she’s not shooting a lefty floater attacking towards the paint. The Fresno State signee has a good midrange pull up off the bounce and she is able to finish off some ankle breaking plays after her moves by finishing with the high follow through and made jumper.
Clutch Three Point Shooter- 2021 5’10 SF [player_tooltip player_id="20255" first="Taliyah" last="Clark"] (Bishop Blanchet HS) has proven multiple times that she excels with the ball in her hands in the clutch moments for her high school team. Oftentimes, she makes momentum shifting plays by getting her three ball off. She tore up Seattle Prep last season and made some big threes. Clark plays with a lot of confidence with Bishop Blanchet and she knows her team relies on her to make the big plays and she is capable of doing so.
Deep Range Shooter Off The Bounce- 2021 5’6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="82935" first="Hailey" last="Hiatt"] (Arlington HS) is not only one of the top deep range shooters off the bounce in the greater Seattle area, but the entire state. The Western Washington commit uses crafty ball handling moves and one of my personal favorites is her wrap around behind the back from right to left right into a pull up three ball.
Pindown Shooter- 2021 5’10 SG [player_tooltip player_id="48025" first="Charlee" last="Arthur"] (Newport HS) really fits into the half court system style of basketball and part of this is due to her ability to shoot coming off of screens. The Brown University commit does a good job of getting her hips and shoulders square to the hoop off of her cuts and pivoting on her inside foot to maintain good balance to get set into her shot. From there, she has a smooth and consistent shooting form to be able to knock down the three or midrange jumper off the catch.
Catch & Shoot Three Point Shooter- 2021 5’4 G [player_tooltip player_id="48056" first="Malia" last="Smith"] (Glacier Peak HS) has set some three point shooting records for Glacier Peak and that is saying something, coming from such a consistently strong program. Smith is very good at knocking down the three ball in space and even sometimes over a contested hand. When she gets hot, look out! She is reportedly still available in her recruitment.
