St Pius
Zachara Perkins-6’2 PG freshman
Perkins is just bringing it from all angles and I hate to say I knew this was coming but a conversation with her in San Antonio at an event and listening to how she was directing players games she was going against in the event, I just listened because you can’t play the game if you don’t know the game, that applies to on and off the court, yet she’s long and athletic, she’s worked on scoring with both hands, her dribbling, the long ball, as well as her defense yet her TIMING, is steadily getting even better as she goes for 20/16/12
Farren Donald-Wright-5’7 SG junior
Donald-Wright can also go left with the ball, going full speed as I play on words yet her creating of her shot under pressure was on full display as she attacked, hit the midrange as well as a couple of long-range shots to finish with 14 but the heat she applies on defense was consistent, not to leave out she played the passing lane over and over and she even battled for rebounds
Erica D’Souza-5’5 sophomore
D’Souza plays within herself, that’s one of the biggest things I like about her yet she also understands how to find ways to put the ball in the basket, and her scoring off the dribble as well as hitting a contested jumper are there in every game I’ve watched the Panthers play. She’s young and improving every game, I’ve seen them 3 times and her ability to handle pressure jumps out at me
Kinkaid
December Stevenson-6’0 senior
Stevenson mixes it up with either power or finesse and her athleticism gives her numerous options on defense but her spin move which I’ve added to her Twitter page @DecemberSteven1 after grabbing the rebound on the other end and going tp coast for the finish shows me how much she has added to her game. She faced the basket for buckets, had putbacks, and was all over the floor for loose balls yet her rebounding and defense stood out as well
Cacie Chatman-6’1 P junior
Chatman has a strong body and she understands how to use it and watching her rebound on both the offensive and defensive end solidifies it yet her mobility has definitely improved as she has good footwork around the basket and is running the floor as well as defending inside and outside of the paint
Sarah Xu-5’9 G/SF sophomore
Xu was definitely a pleasant surprise as she showed that she could not only create her shot but knock down the mid to long-range. She has a scorer’s mentality, she can finish after contact, and based on my sighting last night, she definitely has some upside
