Prep Girls Hoops was in attendance for the United Bank Holiday Invitational on Saturday. Lets take a look at a few Georgia teams in the event this year down in Myrtle Beach, SC. St Francis and Hebron Christian made the trip to the Palmetto State to play in the 22nd Annual United Bank Holiday Invitational. The Lady Knights won its first game in the event over Northwood Academy (SC) 56-43. The Knights were led by the trio of [player_tooltip player_id="213334" first="Erica" last="Moon"], [player_tooltip player_id="118098" first="Mia" last="Moore"] and [player_tooltip player_id="154591" first="Trynce" last="Taylor"]. Moon a point guard is a very confident shooter on the floor. Moore was able to hit a few three pointers here today while scoring 18 points. Moore has a good feel for the game and great body control going to the basket. Moore looked to push the tempo every time she had the ball in her hands. Moore finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals today. Moore was able to finish on the break or drop some short jumpers. Moore utilized a few floaters in the paint today also to boot. Taylor was big on the glass claiming 13 rebounds today along with 9 points. Taylor just a sophomore can play with her back to the basket and carve out space down in the paint. The Hebron Christian Academy Lady Lions lost a heart breaker at the buzzer to Hew Hope Academy (MD) 61-59. [player_tooltip player_id="118106" first="Malia" last="Fisher"] was GREAT all game long for the Lady Lions. Fisher a Rice University signee finished the game with 22 points while converting (11-12) from the floor. Fisher was extremely efficient around the paint all game long. Fisher used a nice drop-step and head fake at times to the cup. Fisher really works for position down low and was able to finish with left-hand at times on put-backs. [player_tooltip player_id="118119" first="Nicole" last="Azar"] will take her talents to Samford University next season. Azar finished the opening round game with 16 point while converting on 4 three pointers. Azar was always ready to receive the ball and be shot ready. Azar never seemed to force her shot selection and was productive when shooting the ball. The talent doesn’t stop there with just them. [player_tooltip player_id="118148" first="Jessie" last="Parish"] (2022) was great on the boards today in recording 14 caroms (10 Defensive Rebounds) while scoring 6 points and dishing 5 assists. Amiya Porter (2024) came off the bench and saw good minutes in the game. Porter a point guard was able to penetrate-kick into the paint while scoring 8 points and dishing out 4 assists.
