Top Juniors – Week 3
Brooke Howard, 5-7 G, Oak Hill
This point guard played with a lot of grit and ran the offense well for Oak Hill. She has active hands, creating opportunities for her team. A solid floor general and a good ball distributor. Able to run the break well, push the tempo north-south and be a solid leader. Good on-ball defender.
Kaleigh Murphy, 5-10 F, Coal Grove
She showed a lot of poise and moved well within the offense for Coal Grove in their game on Saturday. Kaleigh is a good three-point shooter with solid range, and is also aggressive on the boards. Athletic with a high motor, Kaleigh can play in multiple styles of offenses including scoring in transition. She has good footwork in the paint, and good court vision for her team.
Ella Mescher Ella Mescher 6'0" | PF Minster | 2022 OH , 6-0 W, Minster
I love the improvement this kid has shown over the past couple of years, and now she has become one of the top post players in the talent-heavy MAC. She has a variety of moves and is dedicated to growing her game. She has excellent footwork and hands. Ella can rebound against the bigger posts and defend both inside and outside. The athletic wing also can run the court well in transition. (pictured above)
Kaylee Braun, 5-9 G, Versailles
As I watched her in action last week, she caught my eye with her incredible work ethic and desire to not only run her offense, but defend. With a lot of spots up for grabs on the young Versailles team, Kaylee showed me some good moves and an ability to utilize her game in many ways. She had good footwork in the paint when she penetrated, and her dropstep-and-score was impressive. One to watch the rest of this season and next.
Erin Kaufman, 5-10 F, Ottawa Glandorf
Erin is a very special player and really in a class of her own during the game I saw her play. Love her ability to adapt to what is thrown at her, and really anticipates the game well in advance. Erin can really guard any position and is a strong rebounder. She can initiate transition for her team. Just a complete, multitalented next-level player who should keep the rich success at OG alive again this season.
