I had the chance to see five more games last week involving teams from Northwest and Southeast Ohio, and over the next few days, I will take a look at some of the players who had an impressive outing. I will break it down by grades and some new faces to keep an eye on later in the week.
Today, a look at some of the top seniors who performed well in the games I viewed:
Top Seniors – Week 3
Tory Hendershot, 5-6 G, Shadyside
Loved to watch this guard play. Had not seen her in person prior to this game, but Torie showed all the qualities of a high level guard. Has a great penetrating move to the rim, can scoop and score, hit the short jumper or create for her team. Moves very well, slick and quick, causes issues for her opponent. Has good court vision, uses either hand equally well. Strong passer and leader.
Taylor Jones Taylor Jones 5'10" | PF Indian Creek | 2021 OH , 5-10 W, Indian Creek
Showcased her game against Shadyside and put together a solid game in all aspects of the game. She is a strong presence on the court with the ball and was physical in the paint. Her ball movement was impressive and she moved well without the ball to get herself in position to score and cause mismatch problems. She was a difference maker to me and finishes well at the rim.
Ivy Wolf Ivy Wolf 5'8" | PG Minster | 2021 State OH , 5-8 G, Minster
What a game for the Miami signee as the Wildcats dominated a traditionally-solid Versailles team last week. Ivy dropped 30 and continued to show to me why she is the top D4 player in Ohio. Incredible will to win, desire to make the big plays. Great court vision, leads the break and plays fast north-south. Solid defender, active hands and creates mistakes which leads to points for her team.
Olivia Sims Olivia Sims 5'6" | CG Toledo Notre Dame Academy | 2021 State OH , 5-6 G, Toledo Notre Dame
After a bit of a slow start, Olivia showed her skills often during their big win against Clay last week. She is electric and solid in a lot of aspects of the game. Good fundamental guard who is a good floor leader for her team, athletic and able to score in all three phases. Good pressure defender with strong moves to the basket and she can make plays happen. Able to score off the offensive rebounds, uses her body well around the rim.
Addi Dillow Addi Dillow 5'9" | CG Coal Grove | 2021 State OH , 5-8 G, Coal Grove
Productive guard with good hands able to make plays for her team. Addi was very active in her teams offense, with a variety of moves and a strong penetrating game to the rim. Smart heady player with a high motor who can score both outside or at the rim. Heady player who creates turnovers.
Kelsey Erford Kelsey Erford 5'8" | CG Ottawa Glandorf | 2021 OH , 5-8 G, Ottawa Glandorf
I really loved the way she was in control of her teams offense, as she is a natural playmaker and leader for the Titans. Was in control the entire game, able to play at a high level while being a quarterback on the floor. Kelsey has a strong perimeter game with outstanding court vision. Excellent handles, and controlled the tempo including a solid transition game.
