Here are five standout 2021 prospects from this past week’s action:
Demauria Miles | 2021 | 5’8’’ Shooting Guard | Hebron HS – Miles showed off her two-way ability on Friday. She constantly created turnovers on defense and scored in bunches on offense. The senior two-guard got it done from behind the arc, sinking two threes, as well as off the drive, finishing in a variety of ways at the basket. She has an excellent jumper from distance, plays well in transition, and is an engaged defender from start to finish.
Chloe Hassman | 2021 | 5’11” Small Forward | Coppell HS – I was impressed with Hassman when I saw her last season, but she has elevated her game as a senior. She is committed to the University of Pennsylvania as a track and cross-country athlete, and her running background is evident in her style of play. The 2021 forward is a pure slasher who doesn’t mess around with jumpers, but instead opts for high-percentage looks from close range. Even without the threat of a three-point shot, Hassman got to the rim at will vs. Hebron. She never quits and makes winning plays, which is exactly what you want to see from the senior leader of a team.
Camille Thomas | 2021 | 5’11’’ Power Forward | Hebron HS – Thomas exudes confidence whenever she is on the floor. She was extremely aggressive in the first half vs. Coppell, and her willingness to attack was rewarded with either great looks down low or trips to the foul line. She also displayed that she is capable of knocking down mid-range jump shots from the catch. Furthermore, Thomas played with an edge on defense and consistently found ways to be disruptive at that end on Friday.
Chandler Browning | 2021 | 5’4” Combo Guard | Prosper HS – Browning is another talented prospect who is committed to a D1 school for a sport other than basketball. The North Texas Golf commit is a high IQ player who makes the extra pass when necessary and gets herself to the foul line when her team is struggling from the field. Additionally, she is a solid catch-and-shoot three-point shooter, especially from the corners. She drilled two triples on Tuesday vs. Little Elm.
Jasmyn Loudermill | 2021 | 5’10’’ Small Forward/Power Forward | Hebron HS – Loudermill displayed versatility at both ends of the court against Coppell, showing that she can comfortably operate as a three or a four. The 2021 forward rebounds well, makes smart passes, and defends multiple positions at a high level. She looked great both on the perimeter and in the interior on defense, keeping up with quick guards and holding her own against bigs who had a size advantage.
