2022 Rankings Update: Top Defenders

The class of 2022 has some extremely well grounded defenders, whether it is the illustrious shot-blocking variety or detailed on-ball defender.  [player_tooltip player_id="158520" first="Sierra" last="Logue"] has an immense wingspan and at 6’3" she brings a lot of rim protection skills and awareness in the paint.  [player_tooltip player_id="158524" first="Lindsey" last="Wilson"] is a brute force in the paint for Oregon Elite Gold in the form of a relentless worker and rebounder.  [player_tooltip player_id="158515" first="Charlotte" last="Richman"] is known for doing it all for Clutch Rose, but her attention to the finer details was certainly noticed during her time at 28.5.  [player_tooltip player_id="158535" first="Peyton" last="Gardner"] is a twitchy, quick on-ball defender for Three Peaks who makes a tremendous effort on that end of the court.  [player_tooltip player_id="207821" first="Gracie" last="Arnold"] is an ignited defender for Oregon Elite Gold in the paint who makes heads on plays for the ball as a rim protector and rebounder. <span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158520" first="Sierra" last="Logue"] 2022 6’3" C South Medford</strong> - Logue is a one-person wrecking crew in the paint for South Medford as she swats away anything in her vicinity with great awareness and agileness.  She has an extraordinary wing span along with great timing on her shot blocking techniques.  If she is not block shooting, she is certainly altering the and grabbing rebounds at a great pace.  </span> <span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158524" first="Lindsey" last="Wilson"] 2022 6’0" PF Oregon Elite Gold/Mountainside HS</strong> - Wilson is a blue-collar forward who is very intentional and upfront about her game as a physical and tapped in player - particularly on the defensive side of the ball.  These merits won her a spot on the 28.5 League 17U All Defense First Team as she was a main cog for Oregon Elite Gold’s defensive thwarts.  Focused and resilient on every possession.  </span> <span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158515" first="Charlotte" last="Richman"] 2022 5’7" SG Clutch Rose/Wilson HS</strong> - We know Richman to play numerous roles for Clutch Rose, as an ignited scorer and one who can set the table extraordinarily well.  But it is perhaps her defensive effort daily for her club which was most impressive.  She was asked to guard top players from top programs in 28.5 every game and she did so with tremendous effort and attention to detail. </span> <span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158535" first="Peyton" last="Gardner"] 2022 5’5" PG Three Peaks/Bend HS</strong> - Peyton is a high motor, high energy guard who brings it defensively for Three Peaks as she contains a good lateral speed and plays with tremendous effort.  Her on-ball defense is unmatched as she pesters defenders into mistakes and capitalizes on them.  Gardner is a multisport athlete, which can be seen through her relentlessness and conditioning.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207821" first="Gracie" last="Arnold"] 2022 6’1" PF Oregon Elite Gold/Cottage Grove HS</strong> - Gracie sits on the other block opposite of Wilson for Oregon Elite Gold as she is a piercing, aggressive rim protector in the form of a 6’1” presence.  She is also very forward with her intentions defensively as she initiates very well as a shot-blocking forward who naturally is a good rebounder.  Has good awareness and can play the strong or weak side.  </span>
