The Cape-Atlantic League is losing some top players from a season ago but they will also have plenty returning. Here are some prospects ready to breakout this season.
Naysha Suarez-Rivera (2022) | Atlantic City
Rivera is one of three underclassmen at Atlantic City that burst onto the scene last season. She is ready to take the next step as a junior. Rivera is an elite passer and knows how to run the offense in the half court.
Lauren Baxter (2021) | Egg Harbor
Egg Harbor is in need of a leader for the season and Baxter can be that player. She led the team in assists and steals a season ago. She will take big strides with the ball in her hand this season.
Marlee Brestle (2021) | Ocean City
Ocean City is one of the top teams in the Cape-Atlantic League and that will continue with Brestle leading the way. She is one name to remember who can turn into one of the best in the conference.
Jade Elston (2023) | MiddleTownship
Middle Township is losing [player_tooltip player_id="159436" first="Kira" last="Sides"] but returning one of the elite players in the state in Katie Herlihy. As a freshman, Elston played in 30 games and did not have an extended role offensively. With Sides out, Elston will step in and have a chance to breakout.
Kimmy Casiello (2022) | Wildwood Catholic
Casiello was one of the underrated stars of Wildwood Catholic last season. She has a smooth looking jump shot that we will see more of this year. Casiello can rebound on both ends and defend with the best of them on the perimeter.
Sydney Prescott (2021) | Our Lady of Mercy
Prescott began to breakout last season and will continue as a senior. She showed an ability to score in the lane and rebound effectively. She led the team in steals a season ago and was one of the top shot blockers as well.
