Classic in the Country- Saturday Part 4

<strong>Maddie Vejsicky: 6'0,  SG, 2022, Newark- </strong>What a talented, long, super athletic young lady, with excellent footwork, and has a great feel for the game on the floor. High basketball IQ, and man does she have a gorgeous outside shot! She's lethal behind the arc, and can take it to the basket. Nice handles, and can slither between multiple defenders. Does a great job timing her jump with blocking shots, and makes smart decisions on transition. Impressive young lady with a very bright future! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="32567" first="Emma" last="Shumate"]: 6’1, F, 2021, Newark- </strong> Shumate is without question one of the best players in Newark history to wear a wildcat uniform. She is a prolific scorer who can shoot anywhere on the court. And when she's on a roll, watch out! I'm confident she can shoot threes with her eyes shut- it comes that natural for her! Emma has a great feel for the game, plays with such grace, not rattled, and shows no fear. Excellent team leader on the floor, willing to do whatever it takes to win. With her length, she plays very strong defense, and doesn't make many mistakes. She's going to have a great career with the West Virginia Mountaineers! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91075" first="Zoe" last="Miller"]: 6’1, F, 2021, Hiland- </strong>One of the top players in the state of Ohio, who does it all for Hiland. Miller has so many qualities that make her stand out, but her intensity and physicality really stand out! So aggressive with rebounding- she takes care of the boards!  Her drop step moves to the basket are nearly unstoppable. She is money at the charity stripe- and for all players reading this article, her free throws, drop step moves, and outside shots are automatic because of the muscle memory she's built in countless hours of work. Fantastic player who will do tremendous things for Bowling Green! (<em>Featured Photo, in black jersey).</em> <strong>Kelsey Swihart: 6'0, PF/SF, 2021, Hiland- </strong>(<em>#34 in black jersey) </em>I was really impressed with the little things Kelsey displayed on Saturday. Swihart follows her shot, she cleans up rebounds, plays hard defensively, stands her ground on the block, and she cuts so well to the basket when looking to get open- all of these qualities don't necessarily show up on stats, but boy let me tell you, coaches see it! She's a scorer and rebounder! Outstanding footwork and high motor player, who can shoot well behind the arc, and can take the ball to the basket with zero fear and authority. Love her defensive pressure! Northern Arizona University has a nice guard coming to them in the future!
