Kemah Shaw Kemah Shaw 5'8" | CG Austin | 2024 State TXShaw’s poise at a young age jumped out at me and she’s been consistently adding a variety of positives to her game since I guess that 5th-grade sighting. Understand this, she’s a gamer, she wants to ball in pressure situations and she can deliver by either attacking, shooting the mid to long-range, or making the assist but one of her biggest assets is her “vocal leadership”
Raniyah Lewis Raniyah Lewis 5'8" | CG Conroe | 2024 State TXLewis was creating her shot in elementary school and was showing a “jumper” even then but she also understood the game at an early age, those two things together locked her in at #D1 early. She continued to grow and get stronger, range continued to extend but her ability to find ways to put the ball in the basket is second to none and places her in that “scorers” category
Melinda Winston-5’11 G (Hastings)
Winston is having a monster season averaging almost 16 PPG and close to double-double but I think the biggest surprise is that she’s scoring most of her points facing the basket. She’s strong and powerful, showed she was hard to handle in the paint yet she’s handling the ball from the wing, showing the pull-up jumper nit to mention grabbing the rebound and handling it in the open court
Rian Forestier Rian Forestier 5'11" | SG Brandeis | 2024 State TXForestier is one of those players that fall into my “smooth as silk” shooters list because I really enjoy watching her create and release because it’s not what she does, it’s how she does it and learning how to set defenders up early and dropping it from mid to long-range, even after the lick, told me early she was going to be someone to reckon with and she definitely is
Kaelyn Hamilton Kaelyn Hamilton 5'10" | SF McKinney North | 2024 State TXHamilton was playing up when I first saw her, she was young, made my Tip Sheet, yet her mindset when she was going off against older players early told me she was definitely going to make the transition with ease and she has Her basketball IQ was always good, she’s powerful attacking and finishing, she has a nice mid-range game and she can handle the ball and see the floor
Jade Williams Jade Williams 5'8" | CG Huffman | 2024 State TXWilliams is another player I caught very early that I was very high on and Turbo is just coming off her career-high of 29 with the hashtag #TrustTheProcess which is something I use frequently yet she’s using every tool available to show she can score, off the dribble, the stop and pop or the long-range. What really stands out, even more, is she doesn’t back down in the paint and battles for rebounds
Ashna Tambe Ashna Tambe 5'7" | CG Hockaday | 2024 State TXTambe had to wait for her school season to start yet she was more than ready opening up her season with three double-doubles in her first four games, in fact, that hasn’t stopped as she’s coming off a 36 point 9 assist game recently. I caught her at a huge event and made a SPECIAL trip to catch her team at another site and she left such an impression that I added her to the WATCHLIST
Kemyreul Wheaton Kemyreul Wheaton 5'9" | SF Madisonville | 2024 State TXWheaton has done what I expected, come in and take charge, well and take charges as well but she can play multiple positions and I wrote season before last “she doesn’t realize how good she is” but I think she does now as she’s showing signs of taking over games on both ends. She can score however you want it, she elevates over defenders with ease and plays that passing lane
