2022 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="118147" first="Ashleigh" last="Norris"] – Newton
You’re in store for “oohs” and “ahhs” when watching [player_tooltip player_id="118147" first="Ashleigh" last="Norris"]. She’s a sharp guard with a great handle. She uses a quick snatch-back crossover to get defenders tripping over themselves. Norris can get into the lane and make plays for others. Her scoring touch extends to multiple levels.
2022 5-9 W [player_tooltip player_id="153163" first="Tylia" last="Kemp"] – Grayson
Kemp can do damage inside and out. She’s got the physical build to play on the block for stretches at a time but has the soft touch that keeps her on the perimeter. Kemp is a floor-spacer. Her ability to play either forward position gives her value on offense. She’s an important rebounder for the Rams. Kemp collected 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block while hitting 3 threes in a win over Rockdale.
2021 5-11 W [player_tooltip player_id="188313" first="Rose" last="Bone"] – Loganville
Lenoir-Rhyne is getting a versatile forward. Bone will likely play primarily on the wing, but she can do damage in the paint on offense. She has good footwork and a patient soft touch when scoring around the rim. She’s a capable three-point shooter but really shines in the mid-range. Bone is a smart player that can hit open cutters and has the toughness to rebound in a crowd.
2022 5-9 G [player_tooltip player_id="195843" first="Sydney" last="Bolden"] – Loganville
The more I watch [player_tooltip player_id="195843" first="Sydney" last="Bolden"], the more I like her game. She caught my eye in the offseason with her aggressiveness and athleticism; a player that could do a little bit of everything. Fast forward to the high school season and she’s letting her floor game play. Bolden is a nuisance on defense. She hunts down lazy passes and can turn turnovers into points. Bolden is getting better and better as a playmaker. She’s a slashing guard that keeps her head up to find the open man. Add in the fact that her three-point shot is getting more consistent and you have blossoming priority target at the D-II level. She tallied 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals vs. Rockmart. Her ceiling could reach D-I potential.
2024 5-5 PG [player_tooltip player_id="247670" first="Mekera" last="Standridge"] – Dacula
Playing without [player_tooltip player_id="118142" first="Lazaria" last="Spearman"], Dacula was behind the eight-ball against a good Marietta team. The Falcons hung around as long as they could behind the play of [player_tooltip player_id="247670" first="Mekera" last="Standridge"]. The young guard does a good job of keeping her dribble alive and helping organize the offense. She’s got a knack for getting into the lane and finishing with floaters. She hit a pair of threes and finished with 13 points, 4 assists and 2 steals. Standridge has a very bright future and has been one of the best rookies in Gwinnett County.
2021 5-4 PG [player_tooltip player_id="155980" first="Cazia" last="Nelson"] – Archer
Being undersized hasn’t stopped [player_tooltip player_id="155980" first="Cazia" last="Nelson"] from being an effective scorer over the course of her career. With Barry University in to see her, Nelson showed an ability to score from all three levels. Her go-to shot is the floater in the lane. She’s got a quick flip release that she measures up immediately once she turns the corner. Nelson netted three floaters, a three-pointer and went 4-5 from the line. She did a good job splitting traps and helping beat West Forsyth’s pressure.
