Here are five standout 2021 prospects from this past week’s action:
Amaya Brannon | 2021 | 5’11” Shooting Guard | Plano HS – Brannon was an absolute beast vs. Plano West. She shot the ball well, scored in transition, and was a force on the glass. The Louisiana Tech commit is explosive in the open court, leaving defenders in the dust with her long strides. She displayed tremendous athleticism and played with great energy from start to finish, ending the night with nine points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
Kennadi Archibald | 2021 | 5’9” Point Guard | Grapevine HS – I was extremely impressed with Archibald’s performance on Friday. She was a playmaker at both ends of the court, setting up her teammates with a variety of high-IQ passes on offense, while also getting deflections and just being overall disruptive on defense. She put the ball in the basket herself too, including a pretty finger roll after a gorgeous crossover move. Grapevine’s senior leader is a fearless competitor with a limitless motor.
Khuyler Hardy | 2021 | 5’8” Small Forward | Plano HS – Hardy had several spectacular finishes at the basket on Tuesday. Her slashing ability was on full display. The 2021 forward converted through contact and got herself multiple high-percentage looks down low by utilizing shot fakes. She played great in transition, and her defense was solid too. She finished the game with 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Katy Wade | 2021 | 5’5” Combo Guard | Plano West HS – Wade handles the ball very well. She is good at navigating the floor with her dribble and possesses excellent speed and quickness with and without the ball. The senior captain was a generous distributor against the Wildcats, making smart decisions, finding cutters, and delivering accurate passes. She displayed versatility as well by operating at both guard spots.
Avery Foltz | 2021 | 6’0” Power Forward | Plano HS – Foltz is the anchor for Plano on Defense. The 6-footer did a fantastic job of challenging shots in the paint and rotating out to the perimeter when necessary, accounting for a steal and a pair of blocks on Tuesday. Additionally, she had some terrific assists that resulted in easy buckets for her team. Foltz is a solid finisher on the block, cleans the glass on defense, and sets tough screens for her guards.
