<strong>2023 5-10 F Molly Quincy – West Forsyth</strong>
It was the energy of Molly Quincy that really helped the Wolverines in spurts vs. Spalding. Quincy had a good nose for the ball and was in the thick of things more often than not. Defensively she was able to dig out loose balls and give West Forsyth transition opportunities. Quincy tallied 2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 1 block as she did a little bit of everything.
<strong>2022 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="118143" first="Bridget" last="Utberg"] – Woodstock</strong>
Up against No. 1 St. Francis, [player_tooltip player_id="118143" first="Bridget" last="Utberg"] did all in her power to keep the Wolverines in it. The flashy playmaker went toe-to-toe with Mississippi State-signee [player_tooltip player_id="118098" first="Mia" last="Moore"] and battled valiantly, hanging 20 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals. Utberg has terrific instincts on defense and is like a cat, ready to pounce any time a pass is in her vicinity. The more the ball is in Utberg’s hands, the better. She is trusted to break the press and has a high usage rate as the team’s go-to scorer and facilitator. Bridget is a crafty finisher that uses her body to avoid shot blockers. Utberg is a savvy competitor that should have local D-I programs hot on her trail.
<strong>2021 6-2 F [player_tooltip player_id="192174" first="Savannah" last="Casey"] – Woodstock</strong>
The Georgia College-signee had her usual game. Blocking shots, grabbing rebounds and stretching the floor. Casey nailed one three-pointer and finished with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocks. Casey’s length is a major issue inside for opponents and her ability to space the floor can draw out uncomfortable defenders. Adding strength and refining her ball skills could help her become an impactful piece in the Peach Belt.
<strong>2021 5-7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="118098" first="Mia" last="Moore"] – St. Francis</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="118098" first="Mia" last="Moore"] plays such a polished game. She stays in control and doesn’t get rattled. She hurt Woodstock with her ability to penetrate. Moore would hit floaters in the lane or drop off to open posts for easy layups. Moore has a quick first step and can shoot the three. If she wanted to score 20+ a night she could, but instead she balances her production and does what’s asked of her. She had 18 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 4 steals.
<strong>2023 5-7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="213334" first="Erica" last="Moon"] – St. Francis</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="213334" first="Erica" last="Moon"] has next at St. Francis. She’s a smooth guard with a beautiful three-point shot. Moon plays with pace on both ends of the floor. She’s a catalyst defensively with her chase down steals and ability to jump passing lanes. Moon fills it up from all three levels and can draw contact when getting inside. Much like [player_tooltip player_id="118098" first="Mia" last="Moore"], Moon dissected the defense with her dribble before firing assists through tight spaces. Moon tacked on 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in the 63-46 win.
<strong>2023 6-2 F [player_tooltip player_id="154591" first="Trynce" last="Taylor"] – St. Francis</strong>
Taylor has accepted a bigger role in Year 2 and has produced accordingly. She has a mixture of athleticism and toughness that makes her hard to keep off the glass. Her perimeter game is expanding. She scored on a floater and then hit a defender with a eurostep in transition. She has the tools to continue developing her offense to that of more than just a post. Taylor finished with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal.
