2021 Rankings: Players To Watch Outside The Top 100

The 2021 class is my final look at players to watch in the area. The South Florida leader is combo guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91491" first="Ja’Leah" last="Williams"]</strong> (No.3) out of <strong>Blanche Ely</strong>. The <strong>University of Miami </strong>commit has the Tigers sitting at 15-1 with a Top Ten national ranking. Following Williams is six additional players in the Top 25. Moreover, all of these listed players have committed to D-1 schools. Let’s look at some other players as they close out their senior seasons.. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="215660" first="Chynna" last="Mattair"]</strong> - <em>Dillard (PH. 106)</em> Mattair should be well-prepared for the college game after competing in one of the toughest regions in the state of Florida. Dillard faces the likes of Blanche Ely and <strong>St. Thomas Aquinas</strong> on a yearly basis. The <strong>St. Leo</strong> commit is solid attacking the basket and plays tough on-ball defense. The 5-foot-7 combo guard averaged 11.9 points and 3.3 assists per game as a junior. Look for her to carry her high school experience into college. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219964" first="Stephanie" last="Theodossakos"]</strong> - <em>St. Andrew’s (PH. 114)</em> Theodossakos has been a nice addition to the Scots after transferring from <strong>North Broward Prep</strong>. The 5-foot-10 combo guard is averaging 14.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. Moreover, Theodossakos has scored in double-figures in ten of 11 recorded contests. You have to be cognizant of her ability to rebound underneath and shoot the 3-pointer. Against <strong>Miami</strong> <strong>Country Day</strong>, Theodossakos scored 14 points and knocked down three 3-pointers. Her length also allows her to block shots on the defensive end. Theodossakos is a member of the <strong>Boca Thunder</strong>. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="248426" first="Markayla" last="Clinton"]</strong> - Atlantic (PH. 213) The Eagles have a terrific senior in [player_tooltip player_id="248426" first="Markayla" last="Clinton"]. The 5-foot-9 combo guard is averaging 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. Clinton runs the floor well in transition and attacks the basket with relative ease. She plays equally tough defense and has active hands to create turnovers. Be aware of her vision in the the half-court as well. I think her overall length and athleticism is worthy of a look. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244140" first="Aaliyah" last="Reid"]</strong> - <em>Deerfield (PH. 163)</em> Reid has been putting up some numbers for the Lady Bucks. The 5-foot-9 shooting guard is averaging 16.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game on 47 percent shooting from the field. The impressive stat is her 93 total rebounds from the shooting guard position. It is always a plus when you can contribute outside of your natural position. Against <strong>Monsignor Pace</strong>, Reid scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. She even played fairly well against Blanche Ely with 14 points and seven rebounds. Moreover, Reid went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line in that game. She has been putting up solid numbers regardless of the competition. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244127" first="Aayden" last="Ghee"]</strong> - <em>Jupiter (PH. 149)</em> Ghee is having a nice senior season for the Warriors. The 5-foot-6 (5-9 on MaxPreps) shooting guard is averaging 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game on 56 percent shooting from the field. Moreover, Ghee has scored 18 or more points in five games. Against 7-1 <strong>Boca Raton</strong>, she scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Warriors are currently on a four-game winning streak thanks to her play.
