The class of 2022 rankings have been updated and are live on the site. As with most rankings updates, comes a fresh top five ranking. The same five are included with some slight adjustments. The class of 2022 has some pretty good depth of talent and not much of a gap between several players. On any given night, number 14 may give the number one player’s team some fits for example. This is a nod to the mid-major Division 1 talent from players 1-25.
The updated top five goes as follows:
1) 6’3 SF [player_tooltip player_id="27922" first="Drea" last="Brumfield"] (WF West HS)
2) 5’11 SG [player_tooltip player_id="79189" first="Zahirah" last="Walton"] (Eastide Catholic HS) *(+1)
3) 6’0 SG [player_tooltip player_id="27957" first="Jada" last="Wynn"] (King’s HS) (+1)
4) 6’1 SF [player_tooltip player_id="27954" first="Avery" last="Watkins"] (Kennedy Catholic HS)
5) 6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="27938" first="Camille" last="Jentzsch"] (Lake Stevens HS)

[player_tooltip player_id="27922" first="Drea" last="Brumfield"] is the lone commit out of the top five with her recent announcement of commitment to Pepperdine University. Many feel Pepperdine got a great steal with her outstanding length and diverse skill set at 6’3.
[player_tooltip player_id="79189" first="Zahirah" last="Walton"] spent a part of her Summer playing in Atlanta and was the top performer of all Washington players that I saw this Summer. She fit right into the up and down game and did everything on the floor from scoring, rebounding, defending and passing.
[player_tooltip player_id="27957" first="Jada" last="Wynn"] also had some strong performances this Summer with her sweet shooting stroke. Wynn has a strong frame and showed some ability to rebound strong in the paint as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="27954" first="Avery" last="Watkins"] is probably the top athlete out of this bunch with her length, strength, jumping ability and mobility at 6’1. She is a very good rebounder and solid slasher on the offensive end.
[player_tooltip player_id="27938" first="Camille" last="Jentzsch"] is the top center in the 2022 class for Washington. She is very strong, has great size and a solid skill set to match. She can hit the midrange jumper, rebound outside of her zone, clog the paint defensively and she scores inside with either hand. She won MVP of the PGH WA Showcase in 2020. *Feature image
