3A Guards Who Show Versatility

Kamaria Sheriff | Cuthbertson | W | 2021 Sheriff is constantly moving on the court looking for the gaps in the defense. Her off ball movement causes problems for the defense having to constantly shift and make sure they have good communication regarding her cuts. She did a great job sneaking in the middle on multiple occasions using spin moves to score her baskets. She boxes out her opponents, too, making sure she has the best chance to grab the rebound. She can make nice passes into her post player teammates in order for them to score, and she does a great job relocating to find the open area whether she has the ball or not. She certainly knows how to show off her shot. On defense, she is fiesty constantly keeping herself around the ball to cause problems for her opponents. She showed off her shot from behind the three point line. She can drive all the way to the basket no matter who is standing in front of her using her ball handling to blow by defenders. She is certainly a scoring point guard. Her steals were quickly pushed up the court for fast break possessions. She even grabbed rebounds for her team to end the possession of her opponents. Her shot is nice from behind the arc, and she knows when to show that off waiting for opportune times. She sets the tempo of the game pushing the ball up the court. Her aggressiveness translates well to the other end of the court picking the pocket of her opponents. She already had a high IQ on the court even at such a young age knowing where to go with the ball or move her body on the court. She can drive the ball making moves to get her way close to the basket. She can also settle for stepping back into a jump shot. She is a tenacious defender consistently grabbing steals and pushing them the other direction. Her speed helps her blow by opponents no matter what direction she is moving on the court.
