Are rankings went from 153 prospects to 170 prospects this rankings edition and we are going to talk about all of the girls added to the list. We will evaluate their games and we hope you will enjoy this edition of the Prep Girls Hoops rankings right before the high school season starts. With the pandemic plaguing all of the United States it is a much needed gesture for the CIFSS to allow the kids to play. 2021, 5’9, CG, Hamilton HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261588" first="Sherisse" last="Chensam"] - Chensam’s main impact is on the defensive end of the floor. She’s a very long and mobile defender on the wing. On ball, she sticks with the player she’s guarding and moves her feet. Off-ball, she denies well. On the offensive end, she keeps herself moving; doesn’t remain stationary. Good three-point shooter. Runs the floor well on the break. 2021, 5’6, SG, St. Paul HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261592" first="Valarie" last="Huerta"] - A Central Washington commit, Huerta is a solid point guard with a good feel for the game. She has good vision and can find the open teammate. She’s a crafty ball-handler who can break down the defense and get into the paint. Can find teammates cutting along the baseline. She’s a strong scoring guard too. Her size doesn’t matter as she can consistently finish over the defense. Lefty shooter who can get hot quickly. 2021, 5’8, SF, La Serna HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261593" first="Rosie" last="Avalos"] - Avalos is a good defensive player, especially on the wing. She has quick hands and creates turnovers that can lead to transition buckets. Reads the passing lanes well and applies pressure on ball-handlers. She has good size for a forward and is a solid rebounder. Offensively, she can shoot from distance and has a little slashing game too. Comfortable with the ball on the wing or in the paint. Unselfish player who looks for teammates. 2021, 5’8, SF, Fresno HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261594" first="Erin" last="Williams"] - [player_tooltip player_id="261594" first="Erin" last="Williams"] really stands out above most other players during gameplay. She is a very athletic individual and has a really unique way of playing. [player_tooltip player_id="261594" first="Erin" last="Williams"] is a very smart player and has keen awareness on defense. She does a very good job of stealing the ball on defense, and she makes smart decisions with the ball. Williams is always looking for open players and loves to give her teammates opportunities to score. Erin averaged 17.1 PPG and scored a total of 410 points during her Junior season. Williams also averaged 2.5 RPG, and also averaged 100% from the free-throw line! She hasn’t been to the free-throw line that much, but just because she has made all of her attempts at the free-throw line is promising. William’s ball-handling is also superb, she can get out of any trouble with her dribbling abilities. Overall, [player_tooltip player_id="261594" first="Erin" last="Williams"] is an aggressive, skilled, and competitive player that will show up during her Senior season. 2021, 5’9, PF, Santa Maria HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261595" first="Carlissa" last="Solorio"] - [player_tooltip player_id="261595" first="Carlissa" last="Solorio"] of Santa Maria High School has a huge presence on the court and is a very difficult player to guard under the basket. She has a great touch under the basket and has one of the best turn-around jumpers near the basket. She uses the backboard for most of her shots and uses it wisely. She places the ball perfectly almost every time. Carlissa is always looking to get open for her teammates and does a very good job of it. Solorio works really hard off the ball. Carlissa averaged 16.0 PPG and scored a total of 336 points during her Junior season. She also averaged 2.3 SPG, 1.2 BPG, 1.2 APG, and 11.9 RPG. Clearly, Solorio just dominates the boards, she is a hard player to box out with her dominant presence under the basket. Solorio also averaged 58% from the free-throw line, and anything over 50% is good. Although her three-point shot needs a bit of improvement. As captain of her team, she shows that she is confident in her gameplay, and communication on the court. [player_tooltip player_id="261595" first="Carlissa" last="Solorio"] is a competitive player that will definitely shine during her Senior season. 2021, 5’7, CG, Sanger HS, [player_tooltip player_id="261596" first="Taylor" last="Roth"] - [player_tooltip player_id="261596" first="Taylor" last="Roth"] has an aggressive first step to every dribble she commits. Roth is an aggressive player all-around. She has decent dribbling skills and is very quick. Taylor is not afraid to take on a defender and is especially not afraid to body up against a defender. Her ability to score against a defender is out of this world, she has a great touch around the basket. Taylor averaged 15.0 PPG and scored a total of 316 points during her Junior season. Roth also averaged 2.0 APG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.2 SPG. Taylor also averaged 55% from the free-throw line, which is decent. She has a great jump shot, she can shoot the lights out beyond the arc. She also is phenomenal on defense, she is always looking to steal the ball, and you will have a hard time dribbling past her on offense. She can use her outstanding dribbling skills when she drives to the basket. She doesn’t have a hard time scoring with a defender on her back. Overall, [player_tooltip player_id="261596" first="Taylor" last="Roth"] is an aggressive, competitive, and skilled player that can play at a high intensity.
