The Michigan high school playoffs are close! In this crazy season, senior leadership takes on the utmost importance. Let’s look at 5 seniors that could lead their teams on deep playoff runs.
[player_tooltip player_id="4142" first="Jillian" last="Brown"] (CG, East Grand Rapids)
Brown is about to culminate an amazing high school basketball career. She is perfectly capable of doing it in the form of a deep playoff run. While East Grand Rapids is in a tough District, with Brown at the helm, they could make it past Districts and far beyond. She’s one of the best all around players in the state and has set a new standard of greatness in Grand rapids.
[player_tooltip player_id="27985" first="Abrie" last="Cabana"] (PG, Grass Lake)
Cabana plays on a super talented Grass Lake team, but this indeed, her team. She’s the definition of a leader. Cabana has a mental game that all players strive to reach. She knows where her teammates will be and delivers the ball when they are in a scoring position.
[player_tooltip player_id="138315" first="Logan" last="Lewis"] (SG, West Bloomfield)
Lewis is surrounded by elite young talent, but this season, she is the engine that makes the team go. Her elite defense on the perimeter makes it tough for opposing guards. Lewis plays heady basketball and can get her team a bucket when they need one. Lewis could lead this squad on a really nice playoff run.
[player_tooltip player_id="138301" first="Emaia" last="O’Brien"] (PG, Chandler Park)
O’Brien might be the most explosive player in the state and should probably have a place in Miss Basketball discussions. She can go off and drop 30 points at any time. If O’Brien gets in her zone offensively, it could spell trouble for any team statewide. She has the ability to directly change a game.
[player_tooltip player_id="27971" first="Ella" last="Stemmer"] (SG, Saline)
There has been no player that has been more impressive than [player_tooltip player_id="27971" first="Ella" last="Stemmer"] over the last 16 months. By definition, I think she would have to win Most Valuable Player. Stemmer has the ability to put her team on her back and lead them to a win. Just a few days ago, she scored 38 (including 36 consecutive) of her team’s 44 points in a huge team victory.
