I met so many wonderful people from the Bryan/College Station area when my daughter played for Texas A&M, especially young people who grew up to be outstanding adults so this is very special to me as I watched the TEACHING involved during the practice sessions so here we go
2023
Martasia Chambers-5’2 SG (Anderson HS)
Chambers impressed me last season as a “never takes a play off” type of player and her intensity on defense just left me speechless yet she’s also a player that can score, she understands how to take defenders and her first step is explosive
Heaven Ford-5’8 SG (College Station)
Ford has been “under my radar” since I saw her dropping the long ball from places you needed radar to find so heading into high school, her growth spurt, on and off the court, turned into more than just a long ball specialist as she can attack and finish after contact as well as rebound and defend
Natalie Benner-6’2 P (Montgomery
Benner gave me a good first look as I hadn’t had a chance to see her high school yet at 74 inches her upside is intriguing because her wingspan has her closer to 6’4, she keeps the ball high, does a good job rebounding so I’ll recheck her progression during the club season
Jada Johnson-5’7 CG (Huntsville)
Johnson is athletic and strong and she attacks the rim STRONGLY while under control and finishes after contact yet her defense also stood out as she doesn’t mind going “a hunnid” on the ball yet her ballhandling and ability to see the floor were also good signs
Kiana Johnson-5’7 CG (Huntsville)
Johnson did a good job creating her shot, this includes under pressure and I saw the way she sized the defender up to either take off the dribble or drop the midrange, she does both well yet she also plays within herself and did a good job controlling the tempo
Kyla Clark-5’7 CG (College Station)
Clark was in attendance so I’ll definitely catch her during the club season
2024
Wilyah Everline-5’5 PG (College Station)
Everline is EVER READY to do something on the offensive end and her first step is deceptive in the half-court and in the open court, hard to handle would be the best way to describe it but her attacking and finishing using some pretty good body control caught my eye last season and now her ability to catch and shoot has both of them wide open
Mahalia Twine-5’5 CG (Huntsville)
Twine plays the passing lane so that got me going immediately and so did her ballhandling and seeing the floor yet her SWB, that’s the speed with the ball, is impressive because if you run the floor with her she can hit you, that I already can tell and didn’t see her shoot it a lot but it looks like she can drop it as well
A’Quarius Howard-5’4 CG (Huntsville)
Howard also pushes the ball well and she candle the ball under pressure and make passes going full speed yet she also showed she can create her shot off the dribble for the pull-up or attacking of the basket and played solid defense
2025
Brylee Smith-5’7 SG (Normagee)
Smith shows a lot of potential, first of all, she gets “it” and understanding the game is definitely a plus but she’s also playing up and gaining valuable experience yet let’s not get it twisted, she showed me she could score, played within hersel\f and also defended solidly
Please note, the best way to be NOTICED by me is to be SEEN by me, and here’s a LINK to where I’ll be
