Laborin, Larissa 5’8″ Guard/Forward (Centennial HS, NM Flash) Class of 2022
Laborin did it all for NM Flash. She played positions 2-5. She was active on the boards, especially at the offensive end. She kept many possessions alive with her aggressiveness. She averaged 12.7 ppg game scoring in all aspects, including knocking down three-pointers. She’s a tremendous passer that leads to easy baskets. Her versatility makes her a valuable prospect.
Aragon, Julianna 5’5″ Point Guard (Bernalillo HS, NM Flash) Class of 2022
Aragon was dominant at the PG position the entire weekend. This smooth lefty is very hard to guard. She’s great at changing speeds when in the 1/2 court and gets to the rim with ease. She’s a pass-first PG that makes great decisions in pick and roll situations. She’s capable of scoring at will, but she gets her teammates involved at the offensive end of the floor. She’s also a pesky defender that had a lot of steals in her 4 games.
Mesa, Natalie 5’6″ Guard (Chapin HS, EP Bonafide) Class of 2023
Mesa is a big-time scorer for EP Bonafide. She led her team in scoring over the weekend, including 16 points in semi-final loss. She has tremendous range on her 3-pointers and can also attack the basket. She also stands out at the defensive end of the floor often guarding the other team’s best offensive player..
Benally, Sydney 5’6″ Guard (NM Select) Class of 2025
Benally is one of the young up-and-comers from New Mexico. Just an 8th grader, she plays like an experienced varsity player. She got to the basket with ease and finished through contact. She’s a really good perimeter shooter that did not force shots. She pushed the ball in transition and made great passes for easy shots.
Holt, Jasmin 5’7″ Guard (Chapin HS, EP Bonafide) Class of 2023
Holt is a versatile guard that can play 1-3. She attacked the basket really well and had some athletic finishes through contact. She knocks down the 3-pointer and has really good range and she’s not afraid to take the big shot. Holt is extremely competitive and plays with a chip on her shoulder at both ends of the floor.
Vargas, Briana 5’4″ Guard (Burges HS, NM Select) Class of 2023
Vargas is a solid combo guard that ran the point guard position as well as a wing. She had great court vision, especially in transition leading to easy baskets. She made things difficult for her opponents with her on the ball pressure. She also knocked down some deep 3’s with her extended range.
Salas, Maggie 5’3″ (Mayfield HS, NM Select) Class of 2022
Salas was a pesky on the ball defender for NM Select disrupting her opponents’ offense. Offensively, she got to the basket, while usually drawing contact. She can score in bunches as she did in the semi-final game scoring 7 points in the last 3:00 minutes to send the game into overtime, which NM Select eventually won.
