Davies is a very good and deep team. Their 2nd team could most likely compete with teams as well. Their defensive pressure and ball movement on offense absolutely crushes teams.
[player_tooltip player_id="98659" first="Ryleigh" last="Wacha"] - 15 points - 9 rebounds - 5 assists- 3 steals - Not much to be said as Ryleigh looked like her normal self, being a threat on both ends of the court. Showed her three-point ability by sinking an open three early in the game. Steals and up-court passes early and often. Her transition game is a back-breaker for opposing teams.
[player_tooltip player_id="98718" first="Taylor" last="Fey"] - Steady as they come, Taylor nearly missed a double-double with 12 points and 9 boards. She’s an efficient inside player that will be headed to play D2 ball next year.
[player_tooltip player_id="97899" first="Brooklynn" last="Koenig"] - 17 points (3 threes made) - 5 assists - 3 steals - Immediately started the game with a steal in the passing lane for an easy transition layup for two. Brooklynn, the Valley City State commit showed a complete arsenal on offense — getting to the hoop, mid-range, and raining threes. If you leave her open she will make you pay. She may be the X-factor for Davies to reach their goals to end the season.
[player_tooltip player_id="14172" first="Ava" last="Wild"] - Ava was all over the court using her athleticism with a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Had an impressive block on D that turned quickly into a corner three for [player_tooltip player_id="14170" first="Taylor" last="Safranski"]. Had an impressive step-through euro in the 2nd half. Her jumper is making some steady progress.
[player_tooltip player_id="14170" first="Taylor" last="Safranski"] - 11 points - Handles the point and manages the Davies’ offense. Davies does a good job at picking their spots when to play fast and when not to, and Taylor is a major decision maker in that aspect. Taylor had a very productive and solid game. She did some damage by knocking down 3 threes in the game.
[player_tooltip player_id="240173" first="Ashton" last="Safranski"] - Ashton gives the Eagles an extra defensive element to the team, with her speed, quickness, and play-making ability. Her quickness with the ball and passing ability are both high-level for a 2024. She’s an up-and-coming legitimate point guard prospect in the state.
[player_tooltip player_id="99817" first="Marissa" last="Burian"] - Not shy from three whatsoever and she sunk one and finished with 5 points.
[player_tooltip player_id="218144" first="Karley" last="Franks"] - The 2024 got in the game late and it looks as though she’s improving at a quick rate. Showed she can play the point and handle the rock. Great first-step quickness. Can go off-the-dribble into a pull-up in either direction. She will be a fun prospect to monitor for development. Karley is on the rise.
West Fargo Sheyenne
Sheyenne struggled with the Fargo Davies press and pressure so it was a difficult game to evaluate the Sheyenne guards. They totaled 24 turnovers in the game. But Sheyenne does have a handful of guards with promise and potential in the coming years.
[player_tooltip player_id="100447" first="Maya" last="Metcalf"] - 10 points - 6 rebounds -Sheyenne’s best prospect, Maya is a six-footer that has an offensive skill-set and a strong, athletic frame. She runs the court well. Showed nice touch from the inside, using the glass well on an early jump-shot. She can get up and board the ball with some verticality.
[player_tooltip player_id="196887" first="Jadyn" last="Feist"] - 15 points - 4 rebounds - Jadyn is the leader and toughness of Sheyenne. When she got past the on-ball defender she Immediately attacked the hoop. 6 total points and showed that she belongs. When competing against the Davies’ younger bench players is when we saw her ability the most. She’s a 2024 with some nice potential going forward. This season was great for her development.
[player_tooltip player_id="100424" first="Peyton" last="Breidenbach"] - Handled the point and tried to create some offense for Sheyenne by getting to the hoop. She’s without a doubt an offensive threat, but was dealing with a very stingy Davies defense. Finished with 6 points.
[player_tooltip player_id="99815" first="Lauren" last="Fagerland"] - Had an impressive high-arching floater in the middle of the lane. She’s a lefty shooter that has skills with the ball as well.
