Meet the 32-team field for the State Tournament
The format is different this year, and so is the location, but what hasn’t changed is this: There are still 32 teams that remain in the hunt for a Minnesota girls high school state championship. Section play was completed around the state on Friday night so we now know who’ll be competing in the big show. It won’t be quite the same as in a regular year given that the quarterfinal games will not be held in a major arena under the bright lights. Instead, the games will begin next Tuesday and Wednesday at various sites around the state with the winners advancing to the semifinals that begin April 6 at Target Center in Minneapolis.
Here’s a quick rundown of the 32 teams still standing. We’ll have all the match-ups and previews once the seeding is done and the schedule is announced. Teams are listed by class and section.
