Thursday afternoon we began our Spring rankings updates, beginning with the Class of 2024. This class is extremely strong on the perimeter, but I feel like as the class grows and matures, there could be several really nice forwards and posts who rise to the top of the group. Below I’ve highlighted the Top-10 front-liners we have ranked. The list in this article is comprised of who we feel are the best combination forwards, power forwards, and centers in the Class of 2024 as of today.
1. Juliann Woodard Juliann Woodard 6'1" | PF Jennings County | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-0 PF, Jennings County H.S. – Juliann had a phenomenal Freshman season, averaging 17.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 58% from the field. She has been more of a back-to-the-basket kid with a great motor, but she is expanding her game towards the perimeter now.
2. Faith Wiseman Faith Wiseman 6'4" | PF Indian Creek | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-2 PF, Indian Creek H.S. – Faith is an intriguing prospect because her best days are yet to come. She is still growing, but she already has really nice length and a skillset that allows her to play at all levels. She can play at the basket, in the mid-post, plus step out and make a jumper or handle it a little.
3. Rachel Wirts Rachel Wirts 6'3" | C Center Grove | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-2 C, Homeschooled – I like Rachel as the best true post prospect in this class because she has good hands, solid footwork, and an understanding of back-to-the-basket moves. She looks most comfortable on the block, she works hard, and she’s a nice athlete with a strong frame.
4. Addisen Mastriano Addisen Mastriano 6'3" | C Northeastern | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-1 C, Northeastern H.S. – Addisen is incredibly intriguing because she has the size and strength to be an overpowering back-to-the-basket kid, plus she has good hands and skill on the block. However, she also has nice touch to near the perimeter and can pass it as well.
5. Sophia Poehlein, 2024, 6-1 PF, Zionsville Community H.S. – Sophia is an extremely long, fluidly athletic kid with more of a face-up game than anything. She loves to pick-and-pop to 3-point range, but she’s also tremendous in the mid-post. As I’ve seen her grow her game, she has started to put it on the floor better.
6. Abbie Lucas Abbie Lucas 6'0" | PF Bloomington South | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-11 CF, Bloomington H.S. South – Abbie is a really nice run-and-jump athlete with a wiry strong frame. Offensively, she still looks most comfortable in the mid-post, but as she continues to develop her game, I think she will stretch herself to the wing and be more of a small forward.
7. Isabelle Poehlein, 2024, 6-1 PF, Zionsville Community H.S. – Isabelle and her twin, Sophia (above), compliment each other well. Isabelle prefers to play more around the basket. They are built similarly, but Isabelle likes to seek more physicality, she likes to post on the block, but she can face-up in the mid-post too.
8. Kennedy Coleman Kennedy Coleman 6'0" | SF Charlestown | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-0 CF, Charlestown H.S. – Kennedy is a really nice, fluid athlete with good length. She plays with a solid motor and can do a variety of things at each level. As she shoots it more consistently outside, I look for her to become more of a full-time perimeter forward. She does have a nice handle.
9. Macy Oberlin Macy Oberlin 6'0" | PF Angola | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-0 CF, Angola H.S. – You could see Macy’s confidence grow as last Summer/Fall went on. I think she has as much potential as anyone to continue rising up this list. She is extremely long, very fluid and somewhat bouncy, plus she has shown skill at all three levels. I also like her nonstop motor.
10. Sarah Gick Sarah Gick 6'1" | C Benton Central | 2024 State IN , 2024, 6-1 C, Benton Central H.S. – Sarah had a really nice Freshman year, nearly averaging a double-double for the Bison. She has great length, wiry strength, and she plays with a really nice motor. She is willing to be physical and battle, she can score it on the block, but she’s also solid in the mid-post.
