Thursday afternoon we began our Spring rankings updates, beginning with the Class of 2024. This class is extremely strong on the perimeter, with a number of talented guards of all varieties. Below I’ve highlighted the Top-10 guards we have ranked, and even #10 on the list below, Avery Kelley Avery Kelley 5'6" | PG Evansville Memorial | 2024 State IN , is a Top-20 prospect in this class, coming in at #18 in the state on the overall list. So, you can see it is a guard-dominant group, especially at the top. The list in this article is comprised of who we feel are the best point guards, combination guards, and pure shooting guards in the Class of 2024 as of today.
1. Chloe Spreen Chloe Spreen 5'10" | SG Bedford North Lawrence | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-9 SG, Bedford North Lawrence H.S. – So far, there hasn’t been much argument as to Chloe’s talent, skill, and standout qualities in this class. She is skilled in all facets of the game, she has a natural feel on the floor, and she has a smoothness to her style of play.
2. Jordyn Poole Jordyn Poole 5'6" | PG Fort Wayne Snider | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-5 PG, Fort Wayne Snider H.S. – Jordyn is that kid where you buy popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the entertainment. She is as creative and dynamic as anyone in this class off the bounce. She breaks down defenders with ease, she is a willing passer, but she can also shoot/score it herself.
3. Reagan Wilson Reagan Wilson 5'7" | PG Noblesville | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-7 PG, Noblesville H.S. – Reagan is the kid coaches are drawn to, because in addition to her talent and skillful approach to the game, she has that “team” vibe, always talking and engaged. She encourages teammates, cheers from the bench, and even offers advice like an assistant.
4. Allison Caldwell Allison Caldwell 5'11" | SG Zionsville | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-9 SG, Zionsville Community H.S. – Allie has a really nice, smooth and steady, old school type of pace. She lets the game come to her well, she picks her spots, and she can handle, pass, and really shoot it from around the perimeter. She is actually probably more of a combo guard.
5. Camryn Runner Camryn Runner 5'9" | CG Hamilton Heights | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-7 CG, Hamilton Heights H.S. – Hamilton County has a wealth of talent right now, but I’m not sure Camryn saw the attention she deserved. She is a long, fluid, and skillful guard who can handle and create, plus she can flat out shoot the ball. She averaged 16.9 points and shot 40% from ’3’.
6. Alli Harness Alli Harness 5'8" | CG Carroll (Flora) | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-7 PG, Carroll H.S. (Flora) – Alli is a quick, shifty, and somewhat deceiving guard who uses her unassuming appearance to take advantage of opponents. She is a great deep shooter, she can get defenders off-balance with her handle, and she can attack and find teammates.
7. Joh’nea Donahue Joh’nea Donahue 5'8" | SG Fort Wayne Snider | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-7 SG, Fort Wayne Snider H.S. – Joh’nea is a big part of a talented Freshman class at Snider, and she is a great compliment to Poole (above). Joh’nea is an athletic, wiry, and hard-working kid who can knock down shots outside or get into the defense and create scores.
8. Olivia Nickerson Olivia Nickerson 5'7" | SG Twin Lakes | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-6 CG, Twin Lakes H.S. – Olivia had an outstanding year and was our Class 3A Freshman of the Year. She began her season with a cool 42-point performance, and went on to average 23.1 points per game on the year. She made 4.04 3-pointers per game this Winter.
9. Lauren Foster Lauren Foster 5'7" | SG Indian Creek | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-7 SG, Indian Creek H.S. – Lauren didn’t get as much publicity as several of these other talented Freshmen, but she had a really nice year for the Lady Braves, averaging 17.4 points and 3.5 assists per game. She is a long, wiry strong, and very athletic scorer/playmaker.
10. Avery Kelley Avery Kelley 5'6" | PG Evansville Memorial | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-6 PG, Evansville Memorial H.S. – On a team with seven Seniors, Avery carved out a role and provided them with another ball-handling option, but she also ended up as their third leading scorer. She is a quick, crafty, and somewhat feisty point guard who can create or simply manage a team.
