There are several different lists and All-State teams published by a variety of different sources. So, I decided to put together my own All-District team for the group of schools that I covered on a consistent basis.
Here are my selections for the 6A Region I District 6 All-District Team:
Guard
Monica Marsh | 2023 | 5’5” Combo Guard | Plano West HS – This sophomore guard caught my eye last year during her freshman campaign with her ability to score from anywhere on the floor. She continued that offensive production in her second season of varsity ball, averaging 18 points per game. Marsh handles the ball at a high level and creates her own shot from inside and outside the arc, all-while showing great touch on her runners and floaters.
Guard
Kayla Cooper Kayla Cooper 5'9" | SG Plano East | 2022 State TX | 2022 | 5’9” Shooting Guard | Plano East HS – Cooper looks so comfortable whenever she steps on the court. She is a smooth operator. The 2022 guard scores within the flow of the offense and does so from all three levels, but it was her passing and decision making that always stood out to me whenever I got to see her in action. She takes what the defense gives her and attacks accordingly. I love that about her game.
Guard
Demauria Miles | 2021 | 5’8” Shooting Guard | Hebron HS – Miles took a huge step forward as a senior, thriving in her increased role. The Hebron two-guard used her two-way ability to turn defense into offense and dominate when playing in transition. The motor she possesses is special and her straight-line speed is up there with the best of them. She also shot the three ball well, making her a threat from inside and outside.
Forward
Donovia Hall Donovia Hall 5'11" | SF Plano East | 2022 State TX | 2022 | 5’11” Small Forward | Plano East HS – Alongside Cooper, Hall played a big part in leading Plano East to a perfect 14-0 record in district play. Her killer instinct was apparent every time she stepped in between the lines. She is a strong player who isn’t afraid to be physical at either end. The 2022 forward has a well-balanced game but can take over as a scorer whenever it is required of her.
Forward
Chloe Hassman | 2021 | 5’11” Small Forward | Coppell HS – Hassman’s motor is unmatched. The senior wing operated almost exclusively as a slasher, rarely settling for any jump shots, yet she was still unstoppable whenever she attacked the basket off the dribble. On defense, Hassman was consistently engaged and disruptive. Furthermore, she was a vocal leader for her team who also led by example with her relentless effort and willingness to make hustle plays.
Big
Laila Lawrence | 2021 | 5’11” Power Forward | Lewisville HS – The Texas A&M-Commerce commit plays bigger than the height she is listed at. She was great at protecting the rim on defense and outstanding when it came to utilizing shot fakes in the paint to free herself up down low. Lawrence did a good job of scoring through contact as well, displaying great body control off dribble drives and on the block.
Honorable Mentions
Amaya Brannon (2021 | Plano)
KK Blair (2021 | Lewisville)
Jules LaMendola Jules LaMendola 5'10" | SF Coppell | 2023 State TX (2023 | Coppell)
India Howard (2022 | Coppell)
Paris Bradley Paris Bradley 5'10" | SF Hebron | 2024 State TX (2024 | Hebron)
Camille Thomas (2021 | Hebron)
Maddie Cox Maddie Cox 6'2" | SF Flower Mound | 2023 State #18 Nation TX (2023 | Flower Mound)
Idara Udo (2023 | Plano East)
