With the recent release of the updated 2022 rankings, now is the perfect time to highlight a few players whose stock went up during the 2020-21 season.
Below is a list of seven players whose names should be known. Each of these players has one more season left in their high school careers.
With the way things have progressed for them so far, expect great things during their senior year.
[player_tooltip player_id="117710" first="Grace" last="Moyers"] | Erie | 5’8” | Point Guard
Moyers had an electrifying sophomore year that carried over into her junior season. She led her team in total points (269), assists (52), and steals (45) throughout the course of the regular season. Moyers is no stranger to the spotlight, which helped her land the 10th spot in her class in the PGH Colorado rankings.
[player_tooltip player_id="95171" first="Mikenzie" last="Jones"] | Vista PEAK | 6’1” | Center
When watching Jones play, the best word to use to describe her is dominant. Her 84 rebounds, 15 blocks, and five double-doubles are the most on the team. She finished second on the team in points scored (131), steals (35), and assists (18). Jones is an amazing post-player who gets better every time she steps on the court.

West is one of the more dangerous guards in the state. She is leading her team in total points (215) and steals (61) while coming in second in rebounds (72) and assists (30). West had three double-doubles and a triple-double that she posted in the opening game of the season.
[player_tooltip player_id="95176" first="Deb" last="Altshuler"] | Erie | 5’8” | Guard
Altshuler is another extremely talented player on a stacked Erie team. She entered the postseason with a total of 169 points (3rd on the team), 88 rebounds (2nd), 36 assists (3rd), 28 steals (3rd), and eight blocks. She also leads the team with four double-doubles. Altshuler’s stock has been on the rise for quite some time now, and a decline is nowhere in sight.
[caption id="attachment_231988" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="117682" first="Saya" last="Sabus"][/caption][player_tooltip player_id="117682" first="Saya" last="Sabus"] | Ralston Valley | 5’9” | Guard
Sabus is one of two pivotal pace-pushing guards for the Mustangs. Her 174 total points put her as the second-leading scorer for the team, while her 30 assists sit as the team’s third-highest. She also tallied 49 rebounds, 33 steals, and one block during the regular season. Sabus has been balling under the spotlight since her freshman year, and it does not look like she intends on slowing down anytime soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="117722" first="Edie" last="Morrow"] | Mead | 5’10” | Small Forward
Morrow’s switch in schools has not affected her star performance one bit. She finished second on the team in total points (123), rebounds (71), steals (31), and blocks (7), and third in assists with 25. Morrow was already a player worthy of knowing, but her dominant performance in her first year at a new school has helped to boost her stock value significantly.
[player_tooltip player_id="145414" first="Breanna" last="Jefferson"] | Vista PEAK | 5’4” | Guard
Jefferson is perhaps the most slept-on player on this list. She led her team in points (148), steals (41), and assists (26). She also recorded a total of 33 rebounds during the season. Jefferson is the type of guard who not only helps to set the pace for her team offensively, she also helps to set the tone while on defense.
