I first saw Aikens Semones drop a few three pointers when she was in the 3rd grade, [player_tooltip player_id="65876" first="Jada" last="Malone"] was probably in the 5th when she told me she decided she wanted to play, this hurt me because she was my Girl Scout cookies connection and [player_tooltip player_id="136323" first="Tymberlin" last="Criswell"] caught my eye probably in the 6th or 7th grade so I really wanted to see the trio of talented Wlillage School seniors defend their state championship. Semones came up big with clutch, you guessed it, three pointers, and watching [player_tooltip player_id="135359" first="Sydney" last="Ward"] rebound, defend, and play the passing lane tells me that she’s ready for a big club season as they came up short against Bishop Lynch 56-46, and here are some of the Top Performers
The Village School
[player_tooltip player_id="65876" first="Jada" last="Malone"]
The TexasA&M signee closed her career out with a bang finishing her career as one of the all-time scorers and rebounds at the school as well as their first state championship and a couple of runner-ups yet what I'm even more impressed with is watching her start to as basically a back to the basket decoy to legitimate D1 prospect and every season, she just kept adding to her impressive game. Se started the game off with an acrobatic and one, the agility and mobility will transfer over with the mid to long-range, ballhandling and finishing, not to leave out battling in the paint
[player_tooltip player_id="136323" first="Tymberlin" last="Criswell"]
Criswell wasn't a PG when she enrolled here, she was a slasher that could shot and elevate over defenders for her jumper yet she got the job done running the 1 and will be a solid combo at SMU. Watching her play the passing lane over the years, as well as the and one from BTA has been a treat yet more treats are coming
[player_tooltip player_id="96125" first="RyLee" last="Grays"]
Grays started the second half on a mission and since she's not only toned up, she's elevating better so watching her lead of players and grabbing rebounds with authority but she just goes after everything off the glass so when you add she can ignite the break on one end with the outlet and run the floor and finish on the other end, that spells trouble yet more trouble is coming
Bishop Lynch
[player_tooltip player_id="97624" first="Paige" last="Bradley"]
Bradley was semi-unconscious from the field early and just took over in the second half but she's hard to defend, deceptive first step gets the defender to lean, and when you factor in her body control as well as her creating her jumper under pressure, her pull-up is smooth and fluid and she does it mid to long-range
Talia Depetrillo -5’6 G senior
Depetrillo brought so much energy for Bishop Lynch and I hate I had to leave after a half to catch another game but she was everywhere, played the passing lane as well as some on-ball defense quite well, and on top of that, she knocked down some big shots, including the long ball and her efforts played a huge part in the squad being in it at the half
[player_tooltip player_id="135379" first="Madison" last="Cockrell"]
Cockrell created problems early, she's explosive off the dribble and handles the ball well so seeing her go baseline or right down the middle has been common for me since I caught her in what seems like a lifetime ago yet she's one of those "never takes a play-off" type players whose heroics helped her squad win it all in the playoffs. The jumper, seeing the floor and defending.....
