The playoff brackets have been released and elimination play is here, but let’s get one final look back at some of how we got here:
— In her final regular-season game for Class 5A Highlands Ranch, Payton Muma Payton Muma 5'9" | PG Highlands Ranch | 2021 State CO (PGH-Colorado 2021 No. 4, signed with Gonzaga) went for a season-high 30 points as the Falcons blitzed Pueblo West 77-38. She has 1,006 for her career and is averaging 19.8 on the season.
— Grace Moyers Grace Moyers 5'8" | CG Erie | 2022 CO ’ stock has been rising like gasoline prices. The PGH-Colorado 2022 No. 10 went for 26 of her 31 points in the second half of a 76-61 victory over Roosevelt and followed with a 20-point effort in a 69-61 victory over Berthoud, a final-four team a year ago. Moyer is shooting 48 percent from the floor, including 36 percent from 3-point land.
— Coal Ridge’s underrated Taylor WIescamp became the first player in program history to attain 1,000 career points. She has exactly that number after going for 29 in a 62-17 shellacking of Roaring Fork. And the Titans 2021 insider has done it the hard way – she has all of one 3-pointer over her four seasons.
— PGH 2021 No. 55 Alexa Dominguez Alexa Dominguez 5'8" | SF Mullen | 2021 State CO of Mullen, headed to the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, grabbed her 500th career rebound … pretty good for a scrappy player who won’t make any all-state teams and has spent the vast majority of her career coming off the bench.
— Colorado’s regular-season scoring champion was Harison’s Amyah Moore Amyah Moore 5'9" | SG Harrison | 2021 State CO , The PGH-Colorado 2021 No. 24 totaled 395 points for a 28.3 average. She also shot 59 percent from the floor (145-of-245).
— Lauren Betts Lauren Betts 6'7" | C Grandview | 2022 State #1 Nation CO statistic of the week – 5A Grandvew’s 6-foot-7 Stanford pledge and PGH-Colorado 2022 No. 1 shot a staggering 80 percent from the floor in the regular season, canning 107 of 134 shots (no 3-point attempts). Oddly enough, she has only attempted 30 free throws (including nine in the opener against Mullen) and made 20 for 67 percent, or 13 percent less than her floor prowess.
