2029 Rankings Preview: Who Brings Elite Athleticism?

With the 2029 rankings set to come out next week, there are plenty of players who have made their case throughout the summer. Before the rankings are released, here is a look at five of the most athletic players in the class so far, with each bringing a different level of athleticism to both ends of the floor. These are players whose physical tools can change a game in a hurry.    Athleticism is really what makes Jojo so dangerous on the floor she is able to meet ball handlers at the rim. On the offensive end her speed and quickness allow her to get downhill and finish through contact at the rim. When she gets in the open floor her athletic ability makes her difficult to keep in front.     Chloe has so much skill to her game that her athletic ability can fly under the radar on offense. She is able to hang in the air and finish around the rim in ways that not everybody is capable. Her athleticism really shows on defense where she can chase down players and erase shots at the rim before they even have a chance to react.     Kaze is a strong presence anywhere on the floor and despite standing at 5'7 she is still capable of guarding girls bigger than her in the paint. She gets to her spots quickly, doesn't get pushed around in the low post and uses her extremely quick hands to create problems. Her combination of strength, quickness and toughness allows her to play bigger than her size.     Dejanay's athletic ability can be seen before you even get a chance to watch her play with the height she is able to get on her jump shot making it tough to contest without fouling. She slides well defensively and is looking for openings to get her hands on the ball and turn defense into offense. She is one of the few guards at her height where you have to worry about her getting up to challenge or block a shot at the rim.     Most girls her size aren't as athletic as Leah and that is a big part of what makes her such a tough matchup. She is a solid player who doesn't get moved easily and becomes a force around the rim, often making opponents think twice before trying to get into the paint. Her ability to streak up and down the floor in transition is another part of her game that sets her apart.
