Thursday UIL State Tournament preview

After watching Dodd City defeat Nazareth in 1A, Brownfield in an overtime thriller over Fairfield in 3A, and in 5A Cedar Park holding off a gutsy Frisco Liberty squad, who, like Fairfield were defending state champions, what can I expect to see via live stream today <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/lipan-2020-2021-girls-basketball">Lipan</a>(29-3) vs. <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/martin8217s-mill-2020-2021-girls-basketball">Martin’s Mill</a>(28-4) will open up the action in 2A  at 10:00, I’m not familiar with any players on either team however I’m looking for players to add to the next update I’ll drop next week and I found quite a few on yesterday, this is also why I’m taking that long drive to College Station to catch 3 TAPPS State Championships, 2 on Friday, one on Saturday because "that’s what I do" I am familiar with some of the players in the 2 pm game, <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/hardin-jefferson-2020-2021-girls-basketball">Hardin-Jefferson</a>(29-0) vs. <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/canyon-2020-2021-girls-basketball">Canyon</a>(30-1) like Duke commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65906" first="Ashlon" last="Jackson"]</strong>, PGH Texas #1 player in the class of 2022, who called her #D1Lock in elementary school, not sure what grade but the important thing is that I was right but I was also right about fab frosk <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="166646" first="Kendall" last="Sneed"]</strong> who has come in, with a bang and seeing her and some of her club teammates a few years ago like<strong> 5’8 G Audie Rogers, 6’0 F Molly Beavers,</strong> and<strong> 6’0 F Ashlyn Yarbrough,</strong> all sophomores, I knew this was one of the teams that would keep making runs after Jackson led her team to a runner-up finish as a freshman I’m overly familiar with the 6A players who tip-off at 7 pm, <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/cypress-creek-2020-2021-girls-basketball">Cypress Creek</a>(32-0) vs. <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-team/desoto-2020-2021-girls-basketball">DeSoto</a>(27-2) should be a thriller because Creek makes their third trip to the state championship losing 3 years ago to eventual champion Plano and finishing runner-up to Duncanville last season however Texas signees <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65878" first="Rori" last="Harmon"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97622" first="Kyndall" last="Hunter"]</strong> are one of the top backcourts in the country, called Harmon #D1Lock in 5th grade, Hunter a year later and both were chosen to the McDonald’s All American squad Desoto, like Cy Creek, made it to the state championship with the core group being freshmen and lost 49-46 to Converse Judson in the championship while losing in the playoffs last season to eventual state champion Duncanville but peep this, their BCS frontcourt of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65914" first="Sa’Myah" last="Smith"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65910" first="Amina" last="Muhammad"]</strong>, and Kentucky commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135360" first="Tionna" last="Herron"]</strong><strong>, </strong>they average over 6’3 in height and when you add <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65912" first="Ayanna" last="Thompson"]</strong> as well as <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96916" first="Jiya" last="Perry"]</strong> and <strong> [player_tooltip player_id="22370" first="Kendall" last="Brown"], </strong>this is going to be an interesting game without a couple of Texas Tech commits <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65913" first="Michayla" last="Gatewood"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96915" first="Jamia" last="Harris"]</strong> who are out with knee injuries <a href="https://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/state-girls"><strong>UIL </strong></a>
