While there is plenty of more talent that will likely rise and be highlighted in the coming year, a few power forwards are still deserving of some recognition for their current abilities and potential.
High Major Prospect
Olivia Anderson Olivia Anderson 6'6" | PF Ellensburg | 2023 State #37 Nation WA out of Ellensburg High School is growing into one of the top prospects in the country as she continues on her path of development. From three point shooting, free throws, attacking out of a triple threat and blocking shots that seem unblockable, Anderson has so many tools that colleges from all over are noticing. The 6’6 4-man is not a finished product, but at just 15 years of age, the sky is the limit.
Small School Sleeper
Washington is always good for a small school sleeper! 6’0 power forward Ellie Marble Ellie Marble 6'0" | PF LaConner | 2023 State WA of LaConner High School (2b) could be just that. As a freshman in high school 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals per game. She is a multi-sport athlete that also excels in volleyball. She rebounds, runs the floor and attacks the basket. Further evaluation and film is required before projecting her level of play, but Marble has shown some tools.
Prospect With Some Potential
Another player that I have been able to see some flashes from is Gonzaga Prep’s Taliah Lee Taliah Lee 5'11" | PF Gonzaga Prep | 2023 State WA . Standing at around 5’11, Lee has an ideal frame already and she has a lot of strength to bang in the paint. She competes on both sides of the ball inside, but she also has some skill on the perimeter that is developing with time.
