The Michigan state playoffs are complete. All the players fought through a crazy season and put on a tremendous show. The Final 4 in Division 1 was one for the ages. In the semifinals, Portland battled to a 45-38 win against Parma Western. On the other side of the bracket, Newaygo defeated Detroit Country Day by a score of 55-39.In the championship game, Portland made history with a 52-32 victory over Newaygo.
<h2>HONORABLE MENTIONS</h2>

Abulu did her part on the glass in the semis. She tore down 18 rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244261" first="Emma" last="Arico"] (2024, PG, Detroit Country Day)</strong>
Arico was a force on offense for Detroit Country Day. She finished with 18 points and 7 boards.
<strong>Alivia Densmore (2022, F, Portland)</strong>
Densmore was critical in Portland’s championship run. She had 9 points and 9 rebounds in the round of 4. Densmore followed that with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in the finals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="179094" first="Emmerson" last="Goodin"] (2022, PF, Newaygo)</strong>
Goodin was more than solid in the Final 4. She scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the first game. She followed that up with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
<strong>Ava Guilford (2022, PG, Portland)</strong>
Guilford definitely made a name for herself in the playoffs. She averaged 12 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Final 4.

Long had 12 points in the semis. In the finals she contributed in a variety of ways. While scoring 5 points, she also added 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the championship.

Luma had an excellent game in the semifinals. She finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
<h2>MOST VALUABLE PLAYER</h2>
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="253597" first="Ashley" last="Bower"] (2022, SG, Portland)</strong>
Bower’s name has been all over Prep Girls Hoops Michigan over the course of Portland’s championship run. Trust me, she has deserved every good word written about her. She has been a supremely consistent scoring threat out of the backcourt for her team. Bower never stepped back in big games or big moments, but instead, continued her onslaught of efficient scoring. In the semifinals, she put up 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Bower was her usual clutch self in the title game. She shot 50% from the field on her way to a 20 point output. Bower also added 4 assists in the title game.
