Grassroots season is finally in full gear here in Michigan. There were a lot of elite players and tough competition throughout the events. There were many Michigan players that excelled at the LBI April Showers and other various venues. We’ll take a look at some of the exceptional performances from Michigan players throughout the weekend.
* This is not an all-inclusive list, just based on what I saw/was aware of.

If you haven’t seen the video from the state championship game, look it up. "I won’t miss" seems to be a constant truth about Bargesser. She was her typical dynamic self this weekend. She had a very impressive 17 point game in a 61-37 win over Always Elite 100.
[player_tooltip player_id="244257" first="Ni’kiya" last="Bonner"] (2024, CG, Detroit Edison, Michigan Crossover 15u EYBL)
Bonner has that ’it’ factor. She’s must see basketball and carries a superstar aura with her. Over the weekend, in typical Bonner style, she hit a game winning bucket. She also had an impressive 19 point game.
[player_tooltip player_id="230785" first="Molly" last="Deurloo"] (2023, CG, Howell, PR1DE 2023)
Deurloo continues to impress me with her play. Ever since last fall, she has been dynamite. She’s an underrated player that college coaches will want to take a look at this summer. Deurloo’s weekend was highlighted by a 14 point and 4 rebound performance.
[player_tooltip player_id="147715" first="Theryn" last="Hallock"] (2022, SG, Forest Hills Northern, MBA)
At the WPA Bruins Tip Off Classic, Hallock was as clutch as they come. With just over 2 seconds remaining, she buried a triple that ended up being the winning basket as they defeated Cincy Angels 17u by a 2 point margin.
[player_tooltip player_id="182920" first="Anna" last="Herberholz"] (2022, SG, Marian, Tri-County Hoopers 2022)
Herbholz was tremendous this weekend at LBI’s April Showers. She was a very efficient shooter and ball handler for her team. Herbholz was a consistent scorer and showed off a high basketball IQ.
[player_tooltip player_id="147776" first="Ella" last="Miller"] (2022, PF, East Lansing, Michigan’s Finest 2022)
Let’s start with this - [player_tooltip player_id="147776" first="Ella" last="Miller"] is a really good basketball player and still somewhat underrated. She can make an impact from both the pint and the perimeter. Miller had a really solid game in a 61-36 win over UAA Example Sports. She scored 17 points, on her 17th birthday, in the win.
[player_tooltip player_id="185193" first="Lina" last="Rea"] (2022, PG, Utica, Tri-County Hooprs 2022)
Rea came up big when her team needed her. In the semifinals, she scored 14 points to help her team advance to the championship game.
