Regan Williams Regan Williams 6'2" | SF Link Academy | 2024 State MO 6’1″ KC Run GMC 2023 UAA: A 2024 combo forward from Park Hill South who knows how to score and she does it in a number of ways. She will knock down the open jumper or score in the post, but she is very good at improvising and getting buckets in unconventional ways that keep defenders off balance. She made difficult shots look pretty easy as she would hit a jump hook from a tough angle or make a scooping layup with her opposite hand by going high off the backboard. She could be off-balance, but she has the knack for finding the backboard and scoring with a nice touch.
Emma Sling 5’7″ Team Iowa 2023 BlueStar: A talented 2023 point guard who can get your offense organized or she can go and get buckets. She was very aggressive offensively in the early morning game that I watched as she scored on a nice baseline drive and hit a nice pull up jumper from about 15 feet. She does a nice job using a high screen to set up her mid-range jumper, which is formidable. She knows how to create a little separation from the defender to get off her jumper and she can play through the contact as well to get to the basket.
Taliyah Scott Taliyah Scott 5'4" | CG Truman | 2023 State MO 5’6 Della Lamb 3SSB: The 2023 guard from Truman had a terrific offensive performance to close out the first night of competition. She really had it going from 3-point range, but she was equally tough to defend off the dribble with her quickness and first step to the basket. Loved how she used the jump stop with two feet in the lane. She finished with a game-high 21 points.
Olivia Watkins 6’0″ Team Trae Young 2023: A Class of 2025 forward who was very impressive in the game I watched as she and her team all played two years up in the 16U division. She has the height and the length and the versatile skill set to play just about anywhere on the court, which she did. Early in the game, she scored in the post with a pair of layups with her left hand, her opposite hand. She also handled the ball and hit a 3-pointer off the pick and pop. She already understands how to roll, pop of slip when setting screens. She is also an excellent shot blocker with the length and timing to get to shots without fouling. The future that this young lady has is neon bright.
Mariah Farmer 5’6″ Lady Prospects: A 2023 point guard who was very effective in getting downhill on the drive. She was constantly putting pressure on the defense as she can get to the basket while going with either or right or her left hand. If she was cut off the first time, she would keep her dribble alive and keep probing the defense until she found an opening. She was also very aggressive on the defensive end as she didn’t mind hawking the ball or getting after a loose ball.
Heaven Shockley Heaven Shockley 6'1" | C Central (Springfield) | 2023 State MO 6’1″ Missouri Tarheels 2023: A 2023 forward from Springfield Central, she was one of the most imposing defensive players that I watched during the day. She had her own personal block party around the basket in the morning game I watched her it. She was sending back shots in a variety of ways. She blocked the girl’s shot that she was guarding or she would come over from the weak side to get the sway. She even ventured out to the perimeter to block a jumper. She blocked about five in about a four-minute stretch that was very impressive.
