2024 5-9 G [player_tooltip player_id="218610" first="Alyssa" last="Green"] – FBC Black Future – Buford
When [player_tooltip player_id="218610" first="Alyssa" last="Green"] puts it all together, she has a chance to be scary good. She showed flashes on Friday night, especially in the opening moments of the game when she buried a pair of threes and got fouled on a drive to the hoop. Green has the athleticism and size of a future college guard. Continuing to impact the game on both sides of the ball will help her reach her ceiling.
2025 5-9 W [player_tooltip player_id="288506" first="Mearah" last="Whitehead"] – FBC Black Future – Archer
MeMe has a nose for the ball and a consistent motor. She flies in for rebounds, slashes from the perimeter and provides an overall energy which can be infectious at times. Whitehead stood out as a rebounder on Friday, playing bigger than her size to snag 11 boards. When she had the ball in the paint, she scored with both hands.
2025 6-0 F [player_tooltip player_id="288507" first="Justus" last="Fitzgerald"] – FBC Black Future – Roswell
There’s a lot to like about [player_tooltip player_id="288507" first="Justus" last="Fitzgerald"]. Coming from a freakish athletic family, Justus is next in line. She’s a mobile post that rim runs and rebounds at a high level. Her activity on defense sparks her offense. While she still needs some refinement with her back to the basket, Fitzgerald showed me enough instincts around the rim for her to project as a key piece in Roswell’s future and a recruitable prospect.
2023 5-7 G Stevie Scott – FBC Black Future – Dutchtown
Another bundle of energy, Stevie Scott turned to her aggressive on-ball defense to make an impact. She was able to guard multiple spots on the perimeter and use quick hands to force turnovers. On offense Stevie shined as a driver, finishing with both hands.
2024 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="196118" first="Malaya" last="Jones"] – FBC Black Nxt Gen JG – Arabia Mountain
When people think [player_tooltip player_id="196118" first="Malaya" last="Jones"], they often think highlight playmaker. On Friday, you could see the maturity of her game as she was able to be just as effective without having to make the “wow” plays. Jones is a true point guard with well above average handles and court vision. When she wasn’t setting up teammates, she was hitting three-pointers on offense and collecting steals on defense.
2022 5-10 CG [player_tooltip player_id="194708" first="Cayla" last="Cowart"] – FBC Black Nxt Gen JG – West Forsyth
Cayla didn’t have her A+ game, struggling to finish at times, but her overall floor game and motor were able to lift her into another strong outing. Finishing with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block, Cowart did the little things well in the areas in which we have asked her to grow. She went 4-4 from the foul line and was engaged as an on-ball defender. I’d be remiss not to mention, she had the play of the weekend as she delivered a dime on a behind the back pass with her left hand off the dribble in transition to pick up an assist right before the horn.
2022 5-8 G [player_tooltip player_id="238216" first="Calie" last="Thrower"] – FBC Black Nxt Gen JG – West Forsyth
Defense. Defense. Defense. [player_tooltip player_id="238216" first="Calie" last="Thrower"] sold out on defense and was spectacular on Day 1. Thrower was locked in, getting in the chest of opposing ball handlers and not giving up an inch of ground. Thrower beat her man to the spot consistently and allowed nothing toward the basket.
2024 6-1 W [player_tooltip player_id="196117" first="Erin" last="Rodgers"] – FBC Black Nxt Gen JG – Grayson
The first thing that I thought when I saw [player_tooltip player_id="196117" first="Erin" last="Rodgers"] is that is a future High Major/WNBA type frame. Her broad shoulders and extreme length look like the prototypical wing at the next level. Once she packs on more muscle, watch out. Rodgers is dripping with potential. She can defend any position on the floor and has a soft touch as a scorer. She finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block, going 7-7 from the line. Rodgers needs to quicken up her moves and stay low on the perimeter, something that will surely come over the next three years. When all is said and done, Rodgers could be near the top of her class.
