I’m closing out this segment with part 4 and I’m just playing back some of the things in my head, [player_tooltip player_id="135374" first="Jahcelyn" last="Hartfield"]-5’11 PF (Team Lex Tar Heels) has always impressed me, she’s long and athletic and scores inside and outside plus she rebounds and defends but that squad is loaded and keep reloading because I don’t recall ever seeing Bryana Block-5’5 CG who added even more depth to their talented squad showing she could score from outside, off the dribble and see the floor but here are some others
[player_tooltip player_id="265532" first="Brooklin" last="Brown"]-5’10 SG (Skyrise Edmond)
Brown was with a team that didn’t turn in a roster when I caught her in MS and a parent gave me her name yet I spelled it incorrectly, however, I got her game right. Watching her add over the years had me post "she’s one of the most underrated players in Texas" and factor in she’s long and athletic with a JUMPER, mid to long range and her explosive first step from everywhere has been creating some problems for defenders as well. She rebounds, defends and plays the passing lane
[player_tooltip player_id="65911" first="Breanna" last="Davis"]-5’8 PG (Team Lex Tar Heels)
Davis is not only showing she can run the 1 efficiently, she also can score yet that may sound like a broken record because she was doing in the 6th grade. She sets defenders up nicely to attack and finish, or dish and her passes are crisp and on the money but that jumper, especially in transition is something else and seeing her knock the mid to long-range down has always been a treat
[player_tooltip player_id="96133" first="Aysia" last="Proctor"]-5’8 SG (SA Finest Ki Will) 2023
Proctor was with the SA Lady Hoops when I first saw them yet their coach told me I was going to be impressed, he was correct and with her jumper, mid to long range, she was an instant hit so fast forward to now, her range is deeper, she’s finishing acrobattically, after contact with either hand yet her ability to get the defender off balance to shoot or attack gives her options
[player_tooltip player_id="158697" first="Ese" last="Ogbevire"]-5’7 PG (The Texas Phenoms) 2023
Ogbevire has taken her game to yet another level. I caught her during a playoff game a couple of years ago and her explosiveness, with the ball yet being under control impressed me yet her outside shooting kept getting better, her release is quick, her first step is much quicker so seeing her not only get her shot off while elevating to release it but also showing she can catch and shoot with accuracy
[player_tooltip player_id="206969" first="Ashna" last="Tambe"]-5’7 CG (Texas Elite 16U 3SSB) 2024
Tambe is playing a more competitive schedule and showing "it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against" yet the first time I caught her, I knew what I was looking at because she’s that good and her poise , her handling the ball under pressure and making her teammates better all stood out and now she’s creating her shot against older players heading to college and knocking it down while still showing that same poise
Ruke Ogbevire-5’7 PG (Texas Phenoms-Black) 2025
Ogbevire will get to join older sister in high school next season yet see joins her on the Tip sheet and will be among the Top 20 I drop for PGH Texas 2025 Watchlist. How good is she, she could have been a factor in high school, last season, yeah, she’s that good and she too is explosive and her SWB, speed with ball, while staying under control is among the best in Texas right now. She has very good body control and can score multiple ways
