The talent was solid and I expect several of these athletes to not only continue with a solid and efficient summer, but a productive season with their high school teams this winter.
Natalie Yelling, 5-5 2024, Cincinnati Lady Tigers
Talented guard who showed some good skills during the game I saw on Saturday. One of her biggest attributes in that game was defensively as she was active and looking to create for her team. She is an athletic player with good handles and showed an ability to create for her team. Plenty of time to improve and strengthen her game heading into her sophomore season.
Olivia Orr, 5-8 2025, Dayton Vipers
She is a young one but showed some good potential to being able to possibly contribute right away when she steps onto a high school floor this winter. She flowed well with the offense, played with aggressiveness and was not afraid of playing through contact when I saw her. She was able to get to the rim and score.
Ellery Minch Ellery Minch 6'3" | PF Mt. Vernon (Fortville) | 2024 State IN , 6-3 2024, Lady Gym Rats Hollins
Both of the players listed today from the Lady Gym Rats Hollins squad were among the best players in the event hands down. Ellery was a long athletic player with an incredible wingspan who made plays happen for her team. Incredible perimeter game with unlimited range. She was able to produce for her team inside or out. Dropped 22 points in the first game of the tournament this one is special.
Riley Makalusky Riley Makalusky 6'2" | SF Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN , 6-2 2023, Lady Gym Rats Hollins
Like her teammate Ellery, this sophomore-to-be was incredible in all aspects of her game. Riley (pictured above) caught my eye very quickly as she possesses a variety of ways to beat you, either with good moves and accuracy from the perimeter, and she is able to finish well with both hands at the rim. Runs the floor well, and can defend any position on the floor. Has a good mentor to help grow her game as mom played D1 at Villanova.
Montasia McCallister, 5-11 2022, Lady Gym Rats Kam
Super athletic kid who was active on the court, and anticipates well ahead of the play. Could penetrate to the rim and was a physical kid not afraid of mixing it up and playing through contact. She possesses good handles and loves to play in north-south transition. In the uptempo style of play, Montasia can finish well with both hands at the rim.
