OAB USBA Shootout Standouts Part 1

Taking a trip over to Blue River, OR to the basketball facilities at the United States Basketball Academy, we were able to take a look at the OAB Shootout which showcased several Oregon clubs.   Micah Wicks Micah Wicks 5'5" | PG Sutherlin | 2023 State OR is a slick guard who helped lead Sutherlin to the 3A State Title game as a cerebral guard who plays at a beckoning pace.   Rose Daniels Rose Daniels 5'9" | SG Lakeridge | 2021 State OR is a sharp guard who is part of an intricate Lakeridge system whereas Mackenzie Hirsch is a high motor wing who plays tough every possession.   Dani Starr Dani Starr 6'1" | SG Sheldon | 2022 State OR is a skilled three-level scorer with length and size whereas Carly Wheeler Carly Wheeler 5'11" | SF Sheldon | 2021 State OR is an aggressive guard who plays with a chip on her shoulder.   Addie Reardon Addie Reardon 5'9" | SG Lakeridge | 2021 State OR plays with a lot of exuberance and brings leadership to a young Lakeridge team. Micah Wicks Micah Wicks 5'5" | PG Sutherlin | 2023 State OR 2023 5’5" PG Sutherlin HS - Make no mistake about it, Wicks is a confident guard who flourishes both in the transition and half-court setting as she knows how to pick up the pace with her innate ability to push the tempo as well as getting a quick step on her opponent.  She is slippery off the handle and can squeeze past her defender with ease and finishes well around the rim. Rose Daniels Rose Daniels 5'9" | SG Lakeridge | 2021 State OR 2021 5’9" SG Lakeridge HS - Rose is another piece for Lakeridge within their guard heavy system who brings sustainability and consistency at the position.  She pierces the defender and knows how to finish with an array of floaters and mid-range shots.  She is a combo guard type who defends and rebounds well as a clever and witty guard who brings another dimension for the Pacers at the position. Mackenzie Hirsch 2022 5’10" SF Crater HS - Mackenzie is a blue collar forward who works relentlessly on both ends of the floor.  She cleans up on the boards well and has a knack for squeezing inside the paint and finishing up at top of the rim.  Offensively, she also has great feel and touch at the mid-range level as she scores well from eighteen feet.  A superb defender who does her feet well and is always trying to get an edge on her opposition. Dani Starr Dani Starr 6'1" | SG Sheldon | 2022 State OR 2022 6’1" SF Sheldon HS - Danika has all the tools of a versatile scorer, which is toppled by her size, length, and skill at the position.  She battles well inside the paint and isn’t afraid to mix it up as she has a certain edge about her.  She scores exceptionally well at the mid-range level as her range extends to the three-point line.  A natural rebounder and defender based on her physical attributes alone. Carly Wheeler Carly Wheeler 5'11" | SF Sheldon | 2021 State OR 2021 5’9" SG Sheldon HS - Wheeler plays great effort out on the floor, particularly as a guard who can post up in the paint as well as bulldoze her way through the paint.  The San Diego Christian commit can hit from alongside the perimeter but also has an eye for the highlight pass.  Plays physical defensively inside the paint and knows how to get a step up on her opposition. Addie Reardon Addie Reardon 5'9" | SG Lakeridge | 2021 State OR 2021 5’9" SG Lakeridge HS - Reardon is a guard who plays with great composure and confidence out on the floor.  She can hit from alongside the perimeter and knows how to get to her spots and let it go in an instant.  She has great balance getting into the lane and can finish with creativity and consistency.  She had several finishes over the weekend where she showed the ability to finish through fouls with good strength.
