I had a first-hand look from the coaches’ box. Here are the players that torched the nets at PGHLive in Council Bluffs, IA.
Gracy Wernli I 5’9 Guard I 2023 I Team Griffin
Wernli did not disappoint this weekend at PGH Live. She shot the ball very well from all 3 levels. Uses an array of moves to get her shot off. What impressed me more was her ability to use the step back to shoot it from deep. One of the best shooters I have seen in a long time.
Hilary Behrens I 6’1 Combo Guard I 2023 I SD Network Sean
Behrens showed us that given space she can consistently hit the open shots. Knows how to run off screens to get her shot off and uses her length to her advantage. Can pull up in transition from midrange and deep. Shot the ball extremely well over the weekend.
Zoriah Mobley I 5’10 Guard I 2022 I FBC Nightmares
Mobley used her length to get her shot off. Long lefty shooter that when she squares up to the basket shoots it consistently from deep. Can drive to the basket and pull up in traffic. One of the most sought-after shooters in the southeast.
Emilee Fox I 5’8 Guard I 2024 I SD Attack
Fox is a scorer. She has the ability to take over the game and when her team needs a basket. Shot the 3-ball consistently but can score at all 3 levels. Has a quick release that catches the defense off guard. Made a lot of tough jump shots in traffic.
Jessy Vanderwerff I 5’7 Guard I 2023 I SD Attack
Vanderwerff can shoot with the best of them. She can shoot it off the ball screen and even in transition. Has a nice step-back jump shot. Can score at any given time. She is a player you can not leave open.
Emily Jaenke I 5’10 Guard I 2023 I Let it Rain
Jaenke showed her range and consistency by nailing (5) 3 pointers in one game. Combo guard that can step inside the arc if the defense pushes her off the 3-point line. Uses her length to shoot over her defenders.
Clara Teigland I5’9 Guard I 2023 I Nebraska Attack GUAA
Teigland showed if you crowd on the 3 point line she blow-by and shoot the short jump shot. Use her size to elevate over the defenders. Has a nice stroke from deep and knows how to finish in transition.
